When you type your name to an NPC, make sure you use your Avatar's full name with the proper case letters and spelling. Anything less is not truthful.

Also be careful in the conversation, not to type "I am ..." because they will presume that you are telling them your name!

I've always used my full name when introducing myself, but I suppose I can run all over Novia and spam them again just to be sure. Thanks. 8^)

Completely stupid if it doesn't recognize a first or last name as truthful though, but that's beside the point.

So my reply of "I'm Batman" wasn't the greatest of ideas? The Oracle needs a sense of humor.

"my name is ****** " always works for me, if they come back with your 1st & last name, they will remember you for next time... But if they ask where you're from, always answer "earth", and they thank you for your honesty for admitting that...

But what if you really ARE batman, just in a normal human outfit instead of your Batman outfit?

Because it is simply AMAZING! Lol :)

Much like yourself Kara, I would never steal anything in RL, but doing so in the game gives me immeasurable enjoyment. Any RPG for that matter, the Ultima games, Skyrim etc. I love it! I think it stems from a repressed psychological need to feel that rush of adrenaline when sneaking up behind someone and picking their pocket. Or swiping that candle, or book, or mug, or food, or plate... :D

For Courage, if you PVP always return the Oracle ransom... don't keep loot.

For Truth, always spell your name correctly when talking to NPCs.

Love - Give coins to beggars, slay or give mercy to Fauns (It's funny how that works. It really depends on what they're saying at the time)
Courage - Kill Satyrs who are tormenting Fauns, Give back the ransom in PVP
Truth - Be honest and complete in your answers to NPCs.

@Duke Avery Is that last one for real? I simply just have to tell them my name and spell it correctly? Does that mean my full name?

Your full case sensitive player name - title not required, just first and last. Kinda like when you fire off a hail in local - how the name is hot if it's typed out correctly.

Several quests in Ardoris also count for the path of Love. One good example is the case of the estranged sister & brother. I completed that and the Oracle mentioned it (without being too specific) the next time I underwent the virtue test.

R37 is an excellent time to revisit the City of Love btw :)

That's not true. It will assume that you are telling them your correct name if you use any part of it (that way people with multiple word names, such as "Lord British" can tell NPCs their names) and filter out things like "I am" and "My name is".

I think it would be pretty awesome if there was an experimentation mode we could opt into for exploring mechanics with virtue consequences. I'd love to be known as Lord Thrax or Duke Thrax in game, but have been hesitant to state my noble title to a NPC... I don't want to risk my virtuous standing in game.

Wait, if you tell an NPC just your character's first name, that counts as a lie, and reduces your Truth virture? Really? That's pretty lame, IMHO.

I was certain that was the case until just now with Lum's post just above... now I'm not sure. Back when the virtue stats were visible in /stats there were reports of virtue hits for telling NPCs the wrong name... misspelling and typos included. I have no idea what's going on now.

And I'm not about to experiment with it to find out either... I don't want to risk my virtue standing just to test game mechanics.... is that bad?

I've always used just my first name and always come positive on my Truth virtue test.

    I apologize for the misinformation.

It was in very early Releases when I would inadvertently type things like "I am sorry to hear that." and the NPC would then call me "sorry to hear that." I've not tested that lately, since I trained myself not to use "I am..." in chat with them.
