    I just don't get it.
Many posts has been discussed with respect. But yet, someone always locked them .For some weird reasons.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the rules are followed and everything is fine. Until it gets closed..

What's the point to have a forum if we can't elaborate on a subject? And when I say WE, I mean , the players, the backers.
    Not the staff.

Is that a bad thing for the game?

Without a specific example it's hard to address the question. Threads eventually get locked over time. Pretty sure the forum does it automatically. More recent ones, I've never see one locked without some sort of excuse given.. ie trying to consolidate discussion to a single thread, older thread that hasn't been locked yet but is old enough for information to be obsolete etc..

It's not always that rules are broken. Sometimes it's just trying to keep the forums tidy. @Berek runs a pretty tight ship.

It's best to just inquire with Berek directly with specific thread of question.

The ship can't be too tight when there are events posts that are still stickied despite being over and the last active post was 6 days ago. While threads with active and civil discourse are locked because it is deemed that the discussion has run it's course. :p

That being said, it has gotten better with less locked threads. I'm assuming OP is referring to the business model thread since that's the only one that has been locked recently without any obvious flaunting of forum rules.

One would have to assume it's less about tidiness and more about perception. Locking threads that have a possibly negative connotation in the efforts to portray a positive image in the forums. Which I kinda understand but don't necessarily agree with.

I recently saw a "reasons why I'm quitting" thread that I intended to read later on ... when I went back it was gone. Was it removed just because of the subject?

    Thanks!

On the other hand, I had no idea the singer looked like he was wearing a rat on his head, that'll stick with me.

Was finding that thread a very interesting read and didn't think it had "run it's course" at all (as I am sure the players posting in it didn't). These kind of things just put me off the game more than anything.

If Berek wanted his last message to be a prominent one then just sticky it and let players carry on the discussion.

Unlikely. There have been many such threads you can still find. It's usually a matter of how you say something.

Its possible an uneccessarily heated flame-war ignited within the thread, in fact this situation (judging from peoples reactions to the subjects in the past) can be expected when:

Somone is not just quitting, but quitting angrily
    A thread is discussing PvP
A thread that demeans a group of players (I.E. "Stupid PKers" "Catering to carebears" "My Problem with Whales" etc)

So if you see a title implying one of these things above, they are particularly magnets for trolls and flame wars in general, and if they are gone before you read them, its likely thats what happened.

In the special case of PvP threads, they also tend tog et moved to thier own forum due to the potential volatility of that discussion
