I am still waiting for G-Sync 4K monitor with 120 Hz... and connector to provide that bandwidth, with reasonable price tag (nothing above $4000, preferably under $2.5k)...might be a long wait.

Well, this is an upcoming one from Asus. it's not 4 k but it's ultrawide (which is nicer in my opinion) with a resolution of 3440x1440. Gsync support and 200hz!!!

My guess is he cleared the clutter for the picture and then put it all back (or at least that's what I'd do if I wasn't so darn lazy).

The time has come. I have this in FedEx on the way directly from Samsung. Man I hope it is as awesome as it seems. The one thing that worries me is that this is optimized for Freesync from AMD, so I have to switch to AMD from Nvidia. I hope that is not bad news for my SOTA gameplay as I also ordered a MSI AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 WAVE to go with it.

Congrats Tahru! Pics please when it arrives :).

As I posted above, SotA runs just fine in Ultrawide, and looks amazing.

As @Berek said, send over some pics. But also looking forward to your review of how it works on AMD (since you are going to switch) and maybe even on NVidia (If you want to try the monitor out before swapping the cards ;-) )

I will do. I suspect the monitor will arrive before the video card, so i will use with the Nvidia 1080 at least a few days,

Wasn't the Vega 64 benchmark worse than those of the 1080 ti?

The comparison is air cooled founders 1080 without G-sync -vs- liquid cooled AMD vega64 with freesync. AMD has a strong edge in its favor because of the monitor.

I really don't know. Didn't check prices and stuff on the Vega tbh. Just read a couple of articles a week or so ago. Some complaining on the power usage.
Tell us how it works when you slapped it into your pc and did a few test! Really curious if AMD finally managed to catch up.
The ryzen CPUs look nice as well but the last thing I read was that the new Intel CPUs already beat them in every aspect that is important :-/

You make a solid point that I should benchmark it and test it before I attach it to my water cooler.

If you need anyone to take the 1080 off your hands, I will sacrifice and offer to do so. 8^D

Congrats on the order. Planning to upgrade my system next year, so still researching what to get. Let us know how you like it.
