Help: New sword locations [All currently found]

The elves in Chillbane drops both types of rapiers.

 

Added as a sword to find is a Shikomizui. Pretty sure it was ninja added this last release as Chrystoph Reis was seen with on be equipped.

@Bzus (or @Chris if you can tell Bzus he has unread emails) any confirmation that the Ancient Bastard Two-handed Sword actually exists on a lich in the game? Looked everywhere and after a month one still hasn't been located.

 

There's a swampy zone with lich fighters in it, that would be my thought...trying to remember which zone though, over by Verdantis Shardfall maybe? North Fetid Swamp? And I think the liches are only out at night or something?

 

Ok no, it was Mysterious Swamp in Hidden Vale I was thinking of, and while there are Lich Fighters there, they are definitely not swinging a bastard sword.

Edit: have run around killing all of the mid-tier lich fighters I can think of and when they drop a weapon, it's a lich axe like always. And "mid level liches" doesn't really make sense because ancient weapons tend to drop off higher tiered mobs. So I'm thinking maybe this is off higher tiered liches like the ones that used to be in Sequanna Colossus...but I can't think of anywhere those are anymore.

Let me know if you find anything out, watching this thread.

Additional edit: only place I can think of actually is in the Compendium (in Braemar), once you work your way up to that room full of liches.

 

Have you tried the Lich in Etceter Crag Mines?

 

That one drops the ancient montante.

 

@Chrystoph Reis ... I have a picture of you holding a Shikomizui... any idea where you looted that?

Did they maybe just shave off the "Bastard" name?

 

I wonder as well. I have one but will not give it up for 5000gp. Maybe add another zero, it is a cool artifact.

 

I found an Ancient Two-Handed Sword in a Yellow Supply Bundle... but it is indeed missing the "Bastard" name. Also, when you swing it, it has the polearm attack animations I believe. But it seems to me that it is not an Artifact but one of the new swords for patterns.

 

I think Sara got access to the oracle's spies to search for more swords Great list, I'm working on getting them as people report them in here

 

Maybe @DarkStarr or @Chris could confirm the name change, so we aren't all looking for things that don't exist?

 

As someone else pointed out to me, it hits 4 targets, regular two-handed swords hit 3 targets.

 

It also has polearm attack animations--I wonder if the number of targets hit is a side effect of that?

Uhh, i could swear i salvaged a Bandit Short Sword some days ago.
I was only in Grannus, the Kobold Camp where it sure drops not, because they only drop Kobold Slag Swords and maybe 1 or 2 Bandit encounters.

eit oh wait: I was in Tenebris Harbour, maybe it dropped there.

 

i have that shortsword. mailing.

 

I've seen the bandit short sword drop from weaker bandits and weaker cultists in a siege. I think they are suppose to yield special components but I haven't gotten any yet and the drop rate for me has been very poor.
