I don't know what technology and features the devs of SotA can use. But announcing a single-player narrative and choices with consequences but then offering standard MMO-quests without any consequences doesn't work, don't you agree? People will want to play SotA because of the quests and the story but they will also leave the game because of them if they are not satisfying.

Indeed I do agree. Who would want fetch quests when they can have something better? It's exciting to think that your actions have consequences. I only pray that they do it right (whatever that means in technical terms). At least right now, I can actually play with my friends, including quests.

I agree "The Blue Glow" is NOT an elegant solution, its neither fictional nor subtle. We are now exploring a special animation where people who are seeking your help will explicitly wave "AT YOU" to basically say "Hey, you! I have something for YOU!" Turns out, that's not easy, because we don't want them to wave at EVERYONE all the same time, but rather just to YOU, when they have something just for you. That requires some special client side only overrides on the "fidget behaviors" so that it does not blow their other work, such as pathfinding around or planting crops or whatever else their life calls for.

I was about to post that I was going to abstain from the Spring Telethon tomorrow, but now I will donate .

I am perfectly fine with this being a temporary, early access feature to help new players - so long as it gets replaced with the features youve described above before EP1 releases.
