I've seen this before on occasion - but with the current QA build (510), I'm getting this on every exit from SOTA - Steam still thinks the application is running (I don't see the process running in task manager..) - and refuses to re-launch the game.

The fix is to exit steam completely (click exit now) while it's waiting for SOTA to close, then re-launch steam.

@Attenwood I think I figured out a reason/fix. It looks like when using the console commands: /bug or /devbug -- the instance of iexplore.exe that is launched, if kept open after the game is closed, causes this. Quitting the iexplore.exe process fixes this.

    Reproduced for firefox.exe

    Reproduction Rate: 100%

    More Details:
Steam thinks that Shroud of the Avatar is still running after exiting the game if you used /bug or /devbug command in chat

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Have Firefox as your default internet browser
    2) Launch the game from Steam
    3) Type /bug or /devbug to chat window
    4) Wait for Firefox to open
    5) Quit the game
    Result:
Steam thinks that Shroud of the Avatar is still running

    A workaround:
    • Close Firefox
