Give shortbow a 25% poison bonus

and/ or give it a parry bonus

 

Don't they already have an attack speed bonus? If they don't, then maybe yeah poison bonus, but a parry bonus might be better off on a crossbow I think (personnal opinion here )

 

I like this - tried short bows before but found them lackluster. Improved poison effects could give it some usefulness specially if one handed crossbows existed in SOTA.

 

I figured being shorter and more easily menuverable you could parry with them, which would be awsome but thats melee defense only.

So i dont think it’d be overpowered to give it a poison and parry bonus

EDIT: metal bows and crossbows. With attack and draw speed reduction but good parry and high strength bonus!

Great idea on the poison on short bow!!!!!

No, ranged is not op, in fact in PvE and PvP its the second weakest wep based skill (weakest being bludge).

Ranged however is "easy mode" meaning its really easy to PvE (you dont have to chase stuff around the entire zone as they run around or you can just sit in tears in one spot for an hour).

I just dropped my 1250 points in archery (130 on main and ~115- ~120 on the other passives and main attack skills) and moved it to Polearm. Now Im critting stuff with a pole arm at time 800+ hp.

 

Currently, there is no reason to us a shortbow over a longbow, as longbows have two strings to get bonuses from. A poison bonus would at least be some tradeoff.

 

That would be a start to making them useful, but just a start. Their much lower damage makes them useless right now, not sure that the poison buff would be enough to overcome that disadvantage.

Shortbow isnt op, it hits about like a dagger and cant charge up very high

 

As soon as I learnt the longbow recipe I stopped using shortbows and I have never looked back. I don't see a reason to use them.
