Succubi (for the dungeons)

We've got demons, we need some succubi. One in the Chaos tree, and versions of them out in the world. And then for the dungeons of course. And perhaps as a pattern for our vendors.

Well, then why not female daemons? I'm not really trying to make a feminist argument here, but why should the female equivalent of daemons automatically be sexy daemons that seduce men?

 

Heh, its not obvious that daemons in the game have genders They have masculine physique, but people can make of that what they wish.

I'm not sure the point of putting succubi in the game just because certain gamers like that they're sexy or whatever. I think it would be weird to go down into a dungeon and find a succubus that was randomly there, with no real reason or lore behind it.

Though I have to say the whole topic has reminded me of the Oracle colossus, where she's shown with wings and horns, and I'm still wondering what's going on with that.

 

I'm fine with the male one being sexy too. He's sexier than the image results for incubi, those guys are pretty heinous. He's already pretty beefy, has a giant glowing cod piece and is mostly naked. I think the only thing holding him back is a more approachable face.

If the demon plane exists, then naturally one would run into more than one type of demon. And one might even be in danger when in spirit mode, if in the presence of such beings. Perhaps you could be trapped for an eternity?

 

No such reason to think a demon plane exists, and if it did, then I think the fact that daemons (and of different forms) are randomly in dungeons I think would require more explanation. Because then, daemons become almost like NPCs, and as with other NPCs, a lot of questions are raised that would demand answers. Including why its important for the story to want the second daemon form to be a succubus (other than for it to be sexy).

Right now, daemons are somewhat treated like elementals. Different elementals have masculine or feminine forms. Fire, air and water, are feminine. Earth, ice, sand, etc are masculine. They serve sort of as guardian spirits, and its easy to wave away questions about them.

 

Ok, remove the daemons from game until they have better in game fiction to justify. And same with elementals until the figure out why they have both masculine and feminine. No questions may be waved away if we can't wave them away on daemons.

 

Well, there's no reason we can't have daemons and succubi. My point was only to note that the idea that we should have succubi because we have demons is flawed, as the two have different historical/mythological heritages. (Though, I never played UO, so I was unaware that succubi were in that game.)
