What if drop rate was 100% for most artifacts like the Envy Bow, from particular mobs - except in its initial form, it was useless except as a deco item .. but when combined, became much more powerful?

Example- let's pretend the as-designed drop rate for Envy Bow is 1/60.. move that math to the combination phase - ex: you need 60 envy bows to make a usable one.

This would allow players to feel a sense of reward every time they kill a particular mob (Vegas Effect) while keeping the anticipated rarity of the item the same.

This would fit neatly into the existing system of combining artifacts. "Common" is currently the lowest power artifact, so perhaps this new tier could be called "Broken" and require a repair kit as fuel to eventually, with enough 'broken' pieces, able to be combined into a "Common" tier.

Repair skill could even be worked into this - so if a player doesn't have a good enough repair skill, some of the fuel(repair kits) would be consumed.

Common and Rare artifacts could still potentially but more rarely drop in a complete form from certain mobs -- think similar to how sometimes boss trolls will drop a lvl 1 troll totem instead of just a troll essence.

I spent a few days making all common artifacts much more common and available to new players for R88, but do keep in mind there will be a balance pass on artifacts shortly. Not sure about making another version of each one that is deco only (especially since they're all pretty much ugly at the moment, hehe) and that adds yet another version of the artifact making it up to 6, and another recipe for each artifact to upgrade it to the common. Each time we add a tier, it multiplies the work with artifacts, so at some point -- make it stop! :p

And almost all of the dailies in R88 other than 3-4 specifically left out will award a common artifact as well. Mostly the crafting/utility ones, but I did put a few non-crafting ones into the quests as well. It'll be simple later to add additional options to those loot tables as well to routinely add other items that have a chance to be rewarded, so this is just the first round of daily loot love. Sannio is adding 2 more dailies, hopefully with R88. They won't be for artifacts though, but for 2 new unique potions. (Corpse Turn-in and Casket Turn-in ;)) It'll be Elixir of Longevity and Elixir of Potency, dark/light virtue quests.

To increase artifacts value, is it possible that only `Epic` version can be used as decorations ?
That will increase the demand and that will also mean something that someone have an artifact as decoration.

Hmmm, I figured people who had an epic would want to use it instead of just leavin it around as a deco. Probably not, but we'll continue to give these concepts some lovin. At some point I'd love to give them all new visuals since they're all meh or borrowed from another asset, but it'd be on visual per artifact, not 5 versions of visuals per. Definitely a down-the-road thing when bigger ticket items are done.

When you have multiple epics and can utilise only one at a time the others might as well be deco rather than sitting in a container. *stares at all the crafting rings*

What if an "epic" crafting ring could be "consumed" for a 5 min buff that would guarantee success for that crafting type ? So Wayland's would guarantee exceptional items and masterworks for 5 mins. That might burn up some of the overflow and give the potential for some nice crafted items. Would, 5 mins be worth it?

:) I mean having one for each crafting station as well as only wearing one or two at a time you don't want to be wearing out adventuring and taking durability hits.
