New Ephemeral relics

Hi.

Usually i would ask @Elgarion about this, but since he is gone(I think) ill post this here.

From R98, they are 9 new Ephemeral relics for the pets.

So far we have found :

Leather ball of daemon slaying
Leather ball of dragon slaying
Leather ball of elf slaying
Leather collar of kobold slaying
Leather collar of elemental slaying
Leather harness of animal slaying
Leather harness of plant slaying
Leather harness of undead slaying

I have been discussing this with @Coswald_Dirthmire, and it seems the ninth one as not yet been discovered.

@Winston , can you help us with this?, we need to know, if the missing relics is in the loot tables? or maybe the drop rate is way too low?

Since these relics aren't artifacts they show in the API as normal loot, as of now the 3rd collar (presumably that's the missing piece) has yet to drop. I am curious if it's an error (either not in, or at the wrong rate or in the wrong table, I know some mobs have several) or if it's just not been found yet. Even something like the large mushrooms, which don't get killed a ton, have surely been killed enough by now to drop one for instance.

 

Was it stated anywhere that these new "relics" can be found in any specific "location(s)" ?
It's a big world out there...........

 

I keep getting them in my inventory but I've not paid enough attention to see specifically. At first I thought they were dropping from the mob type that they were meant to be good at killing, but I know I've gotten the kobold killing one many times and always in the Rise, where there are no kobolds. And I picked up a plant slaying one the other day, no clue how that happened or even where, other than the 1-shottable plants in the shardfalls, I would use a plant killing collar. Are people actually using these over the crafted generic damage increase collars? Are they that much better?

I could see a couple of them being useful, but most scenes are not homogenous in terms of what you're fighting so you'd be swapping it all the time unless you're using it for like, bosses.

 

Still working on what drops what, but it's by mob rather than location. Updating this list with info from folks below:

Leather ball of daemon slaying - Reapers (Skeletons?)
Leather ball of dragon slaying - Lich Mages (Maybe other liches as well)
Leather ball of elf slaying - Kobolds
Leather collar of kobold slaying - Elves
Leather collar of elemental slaying - Kk'ongg (and seemingly clockwork cats, maybe other clockworks as well)
Leather harness of animal slaying - Barbarians
Leather harness of plant slaying - Trolls/?
Leather harness of undead slaying - Dragons, Wyverns.

Can't recall what's dropping the plant one, hopefully someone can fill that in and also correct/clarify anything I might have gotten wrong.

 

I had a Leather Ball of Daemon slaying from a reaper in Ulfheim (see post on the subject in General)

 

I got one from a troll in Ruined Keep. Someone in my party got one from The Breach, though I don't know what MOB.

 

Thank you @Ysold and @Tirrag! I have made some updates. The API shows the plant relic dropping in the Breach and Northwest Blackblades (along with Ruined Keep, Troll Bridge, and Ravensmoor) so I am wondering if it's dropping from Trolls and Daemons both.

 

My question is and where has Elgarion gone to? Did I miss a notice. And regarding the OP so sorry to interrupt your thread but that was worrisome news to me.

 

Elgarion is in the process of buying a tavern with some buddies. He will be mostly gone for a month or two and then will return to us in a more limited fashion. We wish him well but hope he still has a good amount of time for us because he does amazing things for the game!

 

I've really enjoyed this hunting for them and piecing it all together, ty for confirming we it's out there to be found!

 

Daemon Slaying dropped from a Zombie in Despair. I believe a Zombie as opposed to a Petrified Zombie.

We would have that info if the release notes would have been complete.

 

@DavidDC I would tend to agree with @simon1974 on this.
Some sort of "clue" wouldn't be too much to ask in this regard....

I don't see a 3rd collar type even in the list so...if it exists, nobody's ever gotten one?

As far as where to get them, each of these can be individually queried for specific scenes but I think the above posts & Coswald's list have already adequately answered this.

 

for the last Ephemeral collar some hints were given recently by DC i believe that it is on a MOB that has been added to the game recently but one that doesnt get killed that often.

 

Well i hope its not the legendary tiger in the fall because he doesnt spawn for the moment
