Greetings! For the month of October 2023, the town of Sleepy Hollow will be offering 3 Story Tours: 1). General Tour - It starts at the Tavern and tells a story as you visit 6 locations throughout Sleepy Hollow. Use the blue signposts to travel from site-to-site as directed. Talk to the conversationalists and/or read papers/flyers while you are at each location to learn the story of the town's inhabitants and the Headless Horseman. 2). Haunted Inn - This building is a tour of its own. Read the notes on the walls and floor as your progress through each room, to learn the story of the Haunted Inn. 3). Haunted House - Winner of the 2017 Grand Prize Halloween Decoration Contest and built with the help of Twilight Tempest, this tour includes audio! The old audio link has changed, but you can find the new audio link at the entrance. Be sure to bring a portable vibration amplifier device, or equivalent (eg. Leather Aether Aeronaut Helmet). You can use the amplifier consoles on premises, but it's always easier to use one on your head. I do have some portable ones I can lend out, and I can be around to walk/run you through this Tour. I will be applying for pumpkin trophy prizes. If I can get them, I'll mail them out to those who complete the tour. These are PvE events. Dance Party: A Dance Party will be held Saturday, October 28th 2PM - 6PM NBT (hosted by DJ @Alleine Dragonfyre ) at @Vooch 's Castle (use blue signposts) at Sleepy Hollow. The basement entrance is located at the front door step to make things easier for you. Thank you, @Vooch Governor, Sleepy Hollow P.S. If we get pumpkin trophies, they will be given out one per person.
CANCELLED UNTIL NEW VENUE IS SECURED Lots of information and art posters to share coming soon for the: Halloween Masquerade Ball in Sleepy Hollow Saturday Oct. 28th, 2-6pm CST / 8pm-12am GMT (EU/UK) Special thanks to @Vooch for inviting us to wreak havoc on the dancefloor in Sleepy Hollow! CANCELLED UNTIL NEW VENUE IS SECURED
Friends and all, Welcome to the Sleepy Hollow October 2023 Events located at: https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/f...-31-2023-three-tours-at-sleepy-hollow.174937/ I'm here today to give some advice to those who wish to go through these 3 Tours. Normally, when I see people play SotA, I see players run through things as fast as they can, but Sleepy Hollow is much different. Here, you will want to slow down and look around! I offer these advice/tips (some would call these spoilers), but for those brave enough to travel here: (1) General Tour (a) When you get to the end of the story, you'll want to press the 'v' key to change your view (close up) so you can see the ending in all its magical glory! (2) Haunted Inn (a) Take your time. Walk around the gravestones outside to read all the funny, or not-so-funny, ways people died. When you enter the inn, the first clue is already behind you, so turn around and you'll see you're in Room 11 and a note on the wall with some info... Find Room 12, 13, 21, etc. (b) Room 21 is the hardest at the inn because you'll talk to a conversationalist, buy something from a vendor for 10 gold pieces, interact with a public cache chest, and maybe talk to the conversationalist again. Basically, Pay Attention in this room and the entire floor! Afterwards, it'll be much easier. (3) Haunted House (a) Tours start around 45 minutes after the hour. The audio track runs 24 x 7 x 365, and the tour starts when the sun is setting to provide a real Spooky effect. Every time I stand at the entrance and the Sun sets, I get spooked-out because the tour is about to begin. (b) Make sure you wear a Portable Aether Vibration Amplifier, or a Leather Aether Aeronaut Helmet, or equivalent, tuned to the correct station (station URL details at the site). I can lend you one if needed! (c) This is an audio tour, so if you're not hearing anything, you're doing it wrong. (d) Talk to your friends and see who has gone through it in the past because they know the route! Some routes require running, especially at the start, so it's best if you have someone who knows the route and can take you to the ending! Of course, I'll be happy to escort anyone through the entire place! Good Luck, Everyone! I hope you enjoy these stories! Happy Halloween, Vooch Governor, Sleepy Hollow P.S. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! I'm here to help.
What exactly are the tours? When I read your description it sounds as if one has just to stroll along the descriptions like in a Haunted House with the sole intent on Halloween entertainment. However you wrote PVE event, so there are fights? For what level of character would they be approbiate - or below what adventurerlevel should one go only in a group?
@ConjurerDragon , I said PvE so that people know it's not PvP. There is no fighting, so anyone can come! When you arrive at Sleepy Hollow there will be a bulletin board at the Docks that tell you where to begin. Thanks, Vooch
A hour after your party the barbarians start theirs: https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/f...m-get-your-barbarian-on-costume-party.174964/
Hello @ConjurerDragon , I moved my dance party time so it wouldn't conflict with their party. Thank you, @Vooch
Everyone, I've destroyed all the beta testing, so it comes down to people who visit here in October 2023: Our first winner is: Herbert Taraxcum! I don't know him, but he's the first and only person who has gone through one of these events successfully! The Shroud team was kind enough to give me 50 pumpkin trophies, and I'll give them out to the first 50 people who complete one of the challenges! If I can get more, I've give them out to those who complete one of the three tours properly. One possible trophy per person. Time is running out, people! @Vooch
You do know him. My 3 avatars are Henry Fletcher the Ranger, Herbert Taraxacum the confused gnomish Wizard/Druid and Michael Romes the Knight. All on one characteraccount so it does not matter to whom of the 3 you send.
We have yet to be given any details; however, the event is canceled, and the organizer will not be present in-game to host it. Therefore Avatars Radio is cancelling :'( the Halloween Masquerade Ball at Sleepy Hollow scheduled for October 28th unless we have secured a new venue. Please stay tuned to News on the Hour or the official forums for updates
