1. We have a dedicated Player Test Environment on our QA server available for player use. This server will be kept open with periodic database resets, when we will copy the database from the live server. The server database will be updated at least twice a month during a scheduled maintenance window.

Though players are welcome to use the QA server to experiment or test anything they wish, we will post patch notes and testing directives in this area. Players testing new content, features and systems will greatly help in reducing post release bugs and making the game better.

To assist players in helping us make the game better, the Test Server will award login bonuses in CotOs and Gold coins to allow players to purchase resources or anything they may need to test from the Crown Store and/or from the in game vendors. In Addition, the Developers will announce dates/times when Dev Assisted Player Test Events will occur on the QA Server.

Please use the Test Environment Bug and Feedback forums for QA Server activities only.

You can help test by downloading a new SotA Launcher(QA) installer to download a separate QA copy of the game. It exists independently from the regular live version of the game and installs to a separate folder. To use the Player Test Environment, please download the QA Server client here:

Helpful Automatons now have an inventory-themed tutorial they can provide to any avatar. Players can run through this tutorial on the QA server for now, with the intention that it is added to the live server with the next release.

The tutorial (that I affectionately call "Inventory 101" behind the scenes) is a series of 1-on-1 lessons in a solo scene which a Helpful Automaton will teleport you to upon request. It's primarily informational, but there are some basic activities and shouldn't take more than a few minutes. At any time, you can leave and return to the tutorial scene, even before the tutorial is concluded. If you want to try it out, here are some things that are good to know.

    1. It starts with a Helpful Automaton. Some are already in the game, but more have been added. You can find them in the vicinity of town criers in these places:

    NOVIA
    - Aerie
    - Ardoris
    - Blood Bay
    - Blood River Outskirts
    - Castle Atos
    - Central Brittany
    - Estgard
    - Etceter
    - Harvest
    - Highvale Outskirts
    - Jaanaford
    - Kiln
    - Port Graff
    - Resolute
    - Solace Bridge Outskirts
    - Soltown
    - Valhold
    - Xenos

    HIDDEN VALE
    - Kingsport
    - Braemar
    - Owl's Head

    MISTRENDUR
    - Port Harmony
    - Grusk

    2. Start a conversation with a Helpful Automaton and say "tutorial" to get a conversation response. To be teleported to the tutorial scene, choose "[Teleport] Yes, let's go."

    3. Once in the inventory tutorial area, talk to the Helpful Automaton and follow the instructions. Some long-time players may find the first few steps are similar to instructions once given by Anais in the now-dormant "extended tutorial" that was added to the original Isle of Storms. However, stick with it and you'll soon get additional information and be sent into different sections of the ruins.

    4. There's a "Return to Previous Location" teleporter pad in the central courtyard that you can use to leave at any time. Whenever you want to return, say "tutorial" to a Helpful Automaton again and you'll be teleported back. Upon your return, you can pick up where you left off, including any doors that were previously opened will open again as you approach them.

    5. When the lessons are done, the Helpful Automaton in the tutorial area will give you a reward. The reward includes some gold, some experience, and a "Good Student" title.

When you're done with the tutorial, please submit bug reports on any issues you find. All feedback is also welcome, and I'm also interested in hearing how long it takes for people to complete. I think it's about 10 minutes, but a lot of it admittedly is a wall of text broken down into small chunks, so it might be longer.
