[POLL] Will your Avatar be "Good", "Evil", or "Neutral"? [UNOFFICIAL]

While I have fun playing a true neutral or lawful neutral character in D&D (lots of fun with a lawful neutral thief, focusing on charisma to get permission to rob someone blind), I've never had an easy time being flat out evil unless the options were made for me, like in SWTOR, but my personality falls through even when I'm trying to be "evil" as good.

So I'll probably play my character as good mostly.

 

That's a great example, I had forgotten about the alignment in SWTOR! I RP'ed an evil character and always chose the worst choices but I didn't grief other players. My girlfriend tried playing as a Sith but really struggled to do the evil deeds. I laughed at her openly but was secretly thankful. ;-)

 

Neutral, trending towards good. Basically, whatever profits me at the time... mostly good to engage in an exchange of Value, however, I cannot guarantee that I will not end up trying to get into places I'm not supposed to go or that I will be able to keep myself from peeking in that crate in the shopkeep's back room.

 

Good! I always play the good guy if I can.

Chaotic good. If someone is in need of assistance I will gladly help if I can, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to spend the majority of my time assisting people in some sort of a support role. Hopefully my actions can inspire those to help themselves as an ideal.

Yet here is another small label we don't hear too much of, which may pop up in our game;

"The Gypsy's Heart" chaotic, or just nomadic?

Within what we have seen in qualities of people, I think there's an overlooked quality in that of the Gypsy. Such a life's "style" does come with some interesting features of alignment which could be lumped in with the Chaotic as they are travelers. In being travelers, such things of loyalty are changed as in, "I hope to see you, or run into you again some day". I say this as when I was a guild's master (a job I never would wish on a dog), I would see people leave their guild and many within the guild would say things like, "they were no good for us anyway" or "good riddance, at least I have loyalty".... which I always thought were very evil thoughts from those who seemed quite good, because the Gypsy's heart into things, was almost always meant as kind...

"Ultima's Philosophy Through It's Karmic Past"

Alignments can and are what we can proclaim, but this claim of ours was challenged at many points through the early Ultima Primes.
For those who do not remember, or who were not even born yet to have enjoyed Ultima before the ages of Ultima Online, here's a bit of primer that first drew us to become enchanted by Ultima's Avatar Challenges. RG's Ultima was the first game to present decisions that could take you down one way through a Karmic path, or the other way, or many ways, but not all ending the way we thought that things may turn out.

The following YouTube Vid, is a rendering of a taste from what first hooked us to the game. It's not the best of audios, with the Ultima Prime sounds of music being a bit loud for the voiceover, but still very well done. The references the orator uses to religion, is only because the art of philosophy. is so tied to almost all religions world wide. The references that are made to the different shapes, are also described in many other ways though religions world wide. yet halfway through the Vid, you can see some of those questions the Ultima Prime Games, presented to the player for their decisions to be made and thus their Karma to become effected by, yet further, to what the players rewards for their behavior through each decision may bring.

We will be seeing similar decisions presented to us here in our SotA, through the quests we encounter...

This is the perfect game to allow players to fight evil, why because there is way more good here.
To bad they won't allow players to be evil. Giving good players no reason to exist.

 

Evil is just a perspective, but if so perceived by society's standards, Evil I will Be muhahahahaha
