Unlikely... That goal was never official (4 million) and was never reached by the due date ( April 7th) if it was even valid. We might see mounts in Episode 2.

The Forest Lol seems like a scary game and 1st person which I of course want both views, but it's an example of unity stuff, so much can be done with our engine.

Congrats and *cheers* community. Man I was watching those numbers like crazy saying"turn, turn, turn ahhhh there we are.lol
Now on to 5 mil or perhaps skip right through that and get to 6 mil. I believe if R5 can show us some wonderful
improvements (character wise, map wise, combat wise) of course that we can be proud to show off , it will drastically improve the amount of cash that will come into this game.

Where is the trailer showing off possibilities of what this game will be?
So many trailers of games "draw you in", and most are not even realistically what the game looks like, but man some of those trailers
are awesome and make me want to play those games. That's why I bought Assassins Creed and it is also a Unity engine. It's a gorgeous game but I have to play it slowly since it makes me work lol

Congratulations! I think it will go up to $6 million by release date.

Now, can they use some of that money to make NPC portraits?

After KS (last year april), we already had more than 2M. :p I remember the last day of KS, very exciting. We really just doubled the money after that "KS month", but 4M is not bad. The problem is that many people are always comparing with SC, that is a true record.

If you compare the SC & SOTA stats the figures are quite proportional. SOTA has ~1/10th the pledger base of SC & 1/10th the funding. But SC has the additional burden of trying to revive a PC genre that has been moribund/dead for the past decade. The numbers that we"re seeing are all those frustrated people who haven't had a decent AAA space combat /trading simulator game for over 10 years ( I"m one of them). Hence , SC's explosive growth the minute the project began to look viable.

In comparison SOTA is breaking away from a healthy though genericised RPG/MMO industry which is overdue for a change. WOW saw a paltry increase of 200k subs in 2013 (7.8M total), up from 7.6M in 2012. The old formulas aren't working that well anymore and that opens up avenues for RG & his stalwart team.

    Congrats on the 4mil!

For the record, I too would like to see the 3D overland map as the true successor in the official release.

We also broke the 150.000 threads (or threats) barrier in the forum. Half of them about open pvp... But nice anyway! :p
