Well my dwarves tend to be mages, and what they craft is dependant on what they need.

But I suggested over and over, way back when (KS) to create new races. For instance EQN will have kieran(?SP). I also suggested a race or 2. But we're stuck on the old tired humans. Talk about a race that's been done to death.

There is only a little step from dwarfs to hobbits.

And believe me as much as i respect Tolkien - i am somehow happy when i finished this christmas watching another 3 hours a huge amount of dwarfs and 1 hobbit fighting a dragon.

Britannia never had them. And that is good.

People only speak about the part of Ultima that they like. :p

Good that nobody listen to me, since I like Ultima 8. lol!

(Hobbits are a TM, I think)

I would have hoped no elfs (and no other cliche quest races) too, but well, next best thing is to use em as fuel and that I can do so not all is lost!
As long as I dont see pointy eared players I am good

I agree. I hoped that there would be no elves or dwarves in SotA. They are boring, clichéd races that need a break or a very thorough overhaul in both appearance and demeanor. My apologies, Mr. Grix, I know this must be hard to hear.

Since I think adding dwarves elves as a playable race likely won't happen..why can't they take a page from UO and expand upon it? Orc masks, tribal masks, eleven jewels..they would work as costumes..to fulfill the RP players that actually want to Roleplay other races..

On a side note from what I remember the dwarves in elder scrolls aren't actually dwarves - they are another kind of elf (mer).

I would prefer a move away from the cliche fantasy races myself though. At least in SotA the elves are the enemy though!

That is technically correct, but humans call them dwarves and the stuff the weapons are armors they made are all called "Dwarven." It's not a leap to say they are dwarves. Just not typical ones.
