Hate the village arena basement entrance. Hope it is changing?

I hope teleporting ladders is just placeholder until climbing animations are added, and it would iris the camera as you approach the top like in the other basements. That being said, it could easily work the same way with a winding staircase or false door; click it and you zone out, even if it "animates" you walking up the stairs...

 

Please no basement teleportation.

 

They did mention in one of the release docs that the ladder "teleportation" was just temporary.

 

If the ladder is not a teleporter in the final game, there is even more reason to change it. That could be really annoying.

 

I imagine it will just be an animation as opposed to an instant screen change, no controls involved.

 

How about a Tesla-powered elevator?

 

Seems like teleportation to the basement from a mages tower would be a natural.

Adding a vote for spiral staircase.

Quick fix, same footprint, and lore-friendly.

(But... which way to wind the spiral? Usually in castles the defense is upstairs, but since this is my basement, I'm likely to be defending it from below. Perhaps the twist should favor the downstairs in this case?)

Yes, but are lefties as low on the totempole here as they were in the dark ages?
Because if not, that'd need us to be able to chose the twist-direction based on being left or right handed... (Which is a mod I'd like for Avatars as well, so some people could be lefties if they chose so... )

And pikes work better when trying to defend from below!
