Before I sink my wallet, can someone toss a bottled message this way?
    • Add-On Store purchased Prosperity Tools:
      • Want them, Love them, but could a clever thief steal them from me in game? If not, then my wallet hates you for telling me, cause abuse is immanent...

They are tradeable, but no word yet on how thieving will work and what is protected from it. I would assume that anything you purchase for actual money will be safe, and (per the PvP mega post) you will be safe from thieves in general unless you opt in.

How clever is the thief and how naive are you? i.e. they're tradable.

So if you fall for the "rest assured friend, I will give back," you're on your own.

As long as Add-On purchased items are not removable from the owner's personal pack by a highly skilled thief, during a walkabout, I'm a newly thrilled collector.
Borrower betrayal is, to me, a whole different matter entirely. Although you certainly do make a most excellent point!

That is one thing I would pray they would take steps to prevent any thieving of these types of items. I mean, can you imagine the s*#$ storm that would occur if players could actually lose stuff they paid through the add-on store through stealing? And it isn't just the add-on store items either, it is the items that come with tiers.

Most likely all that stuff will be account bound unless you trade it. Did you just die? Account bound. Thief just picked your pocket? Account bound and they either can't see the item or the thief gets a message that they can't steal that item.

If they didn't provide some type of security for add-on items then anyone that opts in to being stolen from (most likely just by opting in to PvP only) would never buy them.

Everything that can be traded or shared with guildmates can (and will!) be stolen.
    Its as simple as that...

Thank you for your follow up.
Current design is that Prosperity items are not stealable.
Please let me know if I can assist you with anything further.
    Thanks,

@Frost No, because they never said that... The best thieves will use trickery and subterfuge to get what they want. I would bet it wont take long till the first guild will lose all their shared possessions to an infiltrator.

@Rodriguez lol | Yes, I can see that happening.

Trust but Verify is sweet precaution.
Best to prevent your valued items from compromised circumstance, and the pain of loss is made feeble when tragedy strikes.

Yes, Rodriguez is referring to theft through implied trust.

Such as say tricking a newbie to use the "Secure Player to Player Trading" window, or granting a player high level access to your household. :)
