You know, it wasn't REALLY necessary to quote all that stuff just to say "Keep up the good work."

    Merci Violation Vengence.

We should be a few more for the R9. The major part of CDD waiting for the launch and more information on the loot system.

    See u in R9.

Why? What difference would have fully looting them had?

You can understand when you have played (more than a week) a full loot game.

This is what you come up with to argue the point?

I have played games for a very long time and I know that a game has to be developed with that mindset in mind.

Not sure why I even wasted this much replying to that veiled insult.

One difference it would have made is that people wouldn't have been able to jump back into the fight with full health and full focus 4o seconds after dying. Strategically and tactically, that would have changed the dynamics of PvP enormously.

They could put a timer on the person to not let them back into combat for a short period of time, say 2 min or 3 min.

I think they are introducing a ghost transition in R9, if not then, then hopefully in R10.

2 to 3 minutes is entirely inadequate, depending on how far you have to run to get back into a fight Death should not be such a trivial inconvenience.

Ya, I just threw a random time in there, it could be adjusted to what ever time would work.

An arbitrary time is just that. Arbitrary. Having to resupply depends on additional factors, such as how much spare equipment the player has, how far a player must go to equip, how much gold the player has if spares are not available.

These factors will vary from situation to situation. In a guild war, for example, the amount of gold/gear that a player or a guild has in reserve can make the difference between success and failure. Factors such as these are what makes Open PvP a greater challenge than PvE.

This isn't UO, as I'm sure your well aware. The systems are completely different and the death penalty has to be just as different.

Full loot for PVP only will imbalance the game for other players. Even if they do not participate, they are affected in various way, mostly having to do with the economy, but also having to do with the proposed attunement system.

The development team is attempting to create a penalty that is universally equitable.

Ransom + experience debt + ghost run = punishment enough.

Full loot is not necessary and I still do not believe that it is such a huge tactical factor in your guild wars. I think it's much more a matter of greed and desire to flex some pixel muscle while lording it over the losers. Completely bad form.

I think full loot should be the best way for this game.

Ok, let's for a second say full loot went in.

Now, lets also say that we have expensive items like attuned swords and armor etc, things we've worked hard to get. It isn't cheap to replace it. Now, a person loses all these items in one large rush of guys...gone in 60 seconds.

This person is now effectively pvpless. Done, until he can rebuild his character up to be a challenge again.

That's one less person to fight.

What options do they have to fix that?

    1) the person could not use his equipment, instead equiping basic equipment or none at all. (Seems rather boring)

    2) All equipment could be basic, nothing interesting to lose or find. (boring.)

    3) That person could decide that Full loot isn't for him/her (most likely)

I don't really care if there is full loot that someone can click on...however, I do care when people start wanting to change the basic systems of the game to appease that.

@Bolck well pvp all over the map not gonna happen, but you can dream lol There should be plenty for you though with pvp towns, sieges, arenas, and pvp events galore, and if you are interested in any other dynamics of the game, such as; all the interactivity, secrets to find, mysteries to solve, and so much more, then you will be a happy camper ;) ****cheers**** and welcome to you.:) sorry if I derailed the thread a bit, please forgive me:(

@Prince and Abydos ----- I like the way folks are throwing down gauntlets but maintaining some degree of respect (staying above belt and not being insulting)..... foe's can, after all, still respect each other. This makes for a lot of fun and rivalry!
