I agree with Net, the eventual Lord chat channel should be an interesting way for a group highly invested into the game to network .

Mostly... Captain Jack does think there are many better ways to announce to the community that you have chosen to raise your pledge to the level of Lord in the game. Though all of them just as tactless in the end. Doing it this way and further suggesting things of benefit to only yourself and your new peers is in poor taste.

Captain Jack thinks that perhaps you should have posted this in the Dev+ area where there are less ghetto players like Captain Jack and where you can find, better, smarter, cleaner, gamers who would probably not mind as much.

There aren't supposed to be chat channels in this game. no global, no area, shouts and normal talking only.

However, I think there will be guild chat channels, which might require the purchase of an orb (or communication crystals). FFXI had something like that, Linkshells created chat channels for groups of people to talk in.

 

That's a great point! No chat channels.

I think it would be great if the Orb Lord+ receives would only let you say something into it...and then get a response back almost like an NPC talking back to you. It's kind of a like a magic 8 ball. You might say "Does anyone know where Ravensmoore is?" and the orb would respond: "Darkstarr says: get a map, noob!"

That sounds so much better than a "global chat channel".
