I know this has popped up before. But I feel this is an amazing idea and was my main love of UO. If we could bring Treasure maps into the game, i would feel that my experience of sota would be one third complete.

Has this been discussed for SotA? Also one of my favorite parts of UO. I also hope fishing gets done well (ala UO). These 2 things alone gave me many hours of UO enjoyment : )

Fishing is not treasure maps (unless its buried underwater), treasure maps are finding the map, getting a shovel, working out the clues from the map, finding that part of the world and using the shovel to dig and find the treasure!!

Randomized treasure maps would be great. You couldn't go to a spoil site and see exactly where to go. I'm not sure how hard it would be to pick a random spot on a map for the treasure, pick a view spot from 20 or so yards, take a screenshot, apply an effect, and create the map.
