Steam activation process was simple and sweet, Clicking the steam forum link only leads to the main store so i presume no Sota Steam forum yet?

 

The only issue I ran into with tying my account to Steam was that the interface for Steam came up in German for some reason. Fortunately Google could translate it. It was still a little less than intuitive, but overall not bad.

 

Steam activation, installing and playing worked fine so far.

 

Steam activation was a breeze. Automatic update works fine.

 

I had no problems with steam at all. Couldn't tell the difference between steam and the stand alone client.

 

olso no problem whith steam activation or instalment.

 

No issues with activating on Steam, and the game plays perfectly fine through it.
The only thing that I've noticed is the Steam version seems to be 32bit only

 

Problem free, but could you please embed some Art for Steam's Grid View / Big Picture ?

Currently the game appears represented by an ugly generic green block with a tiny icon in the centre and the text game title above it.

 

After an initial visual display problem in the first download, the game ran fire off of Steam after its first update.

My largest issue this release was in the zoning hanging 50 percent of the time, requiring a game restart. Painful.

 

SweetFX also works wonderfully now in the Steam version Before it didn't seem to have the same effect.

 

Only problem I encountered was that the Steam activation page was in -some unknown- language.

Other than that, worked great.

 

NO problems so far. Easy and quick installation.

 

Very happy to have Steam integration now. The whole process was very smooth.

One snag: Steam skips the launcher window so I can't just click on "Patch Notes" but I'm sure once Portalarium starts posting news to Steam that won't be a problem anymore.

 

I think I'll play through steam even though I have the stand alone client. It works great and I've come to appreciate steam more because of Shroud of the Avatar. So not only will steam people join Shroud I think the old school gamers from the Ultima fan groups may become Steam users. That's not bad for Steam either. I wouldn't be using Steam today if it wasn't in anticipation of SotA. I got my account a year ago in anticipation that SotA would be on Steam.

There is also the time delay with some email servers, so it may take a few hours.
Also check your emails directly from the web server and not via an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird. The server will often capture and filter emails before they reach your local email folders.

 

Using Steam to play SotA is great, we are able to message each other simultaneously through Steam (and irc if u use that/or voice, etc.)

However, I noticed that when I click on updates for the fixes it takes me to an empty announcements screen for SotA on Steam. I hope that this is just because SotA hasn't been completely fleshed out on Steam yet and will for r12. I just wish that there was more to click on about SotA in Steam.
