I finally read it a couple of weeks ago and I loved it but GOD DAMIT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I read it one chapter at a time and then went back and read it again. It was really tough to read one chapter at a time (like once a week). It felt like the characters were not getting developed very well, and it all seemed disconnected. But when you read it straight through it doesn't feel that way at all.

It's really a very good read. I don't think there's been this quality of lore produced for any other game. Not where the lore is actually integrated with the world building to this degree. Normally games might have good lore but not really connect them to the world at all in a meaningful way. But that doesn't appear to be what's going to happen here. I'm really excited to see all the places mentioned in the book and to explore the ruins of some other places that may have hints of past events.

 

Baron, I just finished the book and I absolutely loved it. Now I have to muster up a character biography for William Serenite. I felt I needed some Lore so I can give my story some tie into the game. Now I have it. I am thinking to have my old town destroyed by the army and my wife will be a savaant type that has had dreams/visions from the oracle. I didn't want to mention the name of the army since it would be a spoiler. My boat will arrive at kingsport and the rest is what waits for us in release date . Now to fill in the blanks and not bore the readers with my story.

Don't forget that the book takes place about 400 years prior to where we are now though.

So you may have to say that your ancestors ended up in Kingsport and now you're going to go out into the world to make your own claim in this time.

 

I hope he will be doing a continuation of this story. I also want to know what happens next.

 

The cataclysm was 400 years ago, BotA takes place about 200 years ago. Your point still holds though.

 

Technically the cataclysm happened 400 years ago and BotA takes place in an unspecified middle period between then and now. The general thrust of your statement is true (it's well into the past) because there needed to be time after BotA for the Obsidians to fall apart. We just don't know exactly how much.

Wait a second I though the 400 years was the amount of time since the cataclysm?

I'm also rereading. Its 100x better reading as one book rather than waiting each week for chapters. They should put the book on Amazon to sell and promote the game!

 

I would like to read the book in German, my English is too bad :-(

Now everyone who has read the book BURN IT AND NEVER READ IT AGAIN. Even when the next book come out with chapter 2 you may NEVER read this book again. That's what they are doing to the main storyline of this game, making it playthrough once only :'(
