Seriously this is being approached in the wrong way. First create the Lore THEN create the monsters. Otherwise our land will have no story to it. Our roleplay will tank because the place we live in has no history we can chat about. Our quests should revolve around that lore and each and every monster should have some history in our land. This is a roleplay MMO. Well then just populating the place with "cool" monster is so wrong.

Do we have Lore writers? What happened to Britannia? Elves why? Where did they come from? What are they like? Who is their king? Why is he their king, what did he do or who is he son of? Who have they been at war with? Maybe the orcs? War with the orcs why? The land and its creatures and every monster in it will need a story of how they cam to make this area of the world their home.

I think if someone want to submit a new creature they also have to submit how they tie in to our world with a rich backstory. Then the devs can develop quests that actually tie in to the past of new Brittania.

Lets take an example from Lady Blix.

The unicorn, can we create an interesting story of how and why its here in new brittania. We can say for example they are a gift from the god of luck, and anyone who is approached by one can possibly tame it. Then we have a use for these silly creature charming devices the devs havent figured out what to do with yet.

What about the god of luck who is he? What is his name? What has he done to new Britannia? His influence.

Come on now lets fill in the blanks for the unicorn....

    Some scary stuff click here

lol Nice pics everyone. I am not crazy about the monsters either so far. Not that some don't look terrific but it's not a special experience or ever very eerie or scary or unusual. I am not seeing depth in the fighting of them yet. While I am sure much will come, I do think this is an important topic to touch on. I felt if I had to kill another cave wurm/or worm lol I would die, but of course they are easy right now. So I found this video so we can get some good feedback for our game. I know the monsters need to be specific to the story line that we have and that they will evolve with releases, but it is a very good topic. I have played games where I was a little more than scared or interested in what it would take to kill the creature. Lots of role play just fighting the creature.:)

I want to see monsters like in Monster Hunter where they're like actual animals just hunting, gathering, hibernating all that good stuff. Don't get me wrong, demon's, zombies, and goatmen are awesome. And if we can work them into the lore properly that would really help the immersion of the world. But this is still another world with it's own kind of fauna to discover it'd be interesting to see what kind of creatures we could see that seem more like animals. And what kind of stories and legends that could come just from their interaction with the players and npc's. I don't know just my idea.

An entire section of such animal/monsters could go well to extend the reaches of what natural animals of the wild. I'm not against monsters, but I'm also very much for extending the wild and bridging the gap between monster and the animals...
    Well put Toxic_Knight!

Indeed, O'Sullivan is a very sick and twisted man...!

But he does have something to his madness :D

I like multi-headed things.. Not two or three or four headed creatures, more like six to ten. I like them very angry, angrier the better!!!:). Dragon form would certainly come to mind for some, myself included, but
would like to see something very warped, twisted, and challenging in SOTA in final release. I would want it to have more physical skills over anything else ( Ex. No Magic, AOE Spells, Etc.). The
waiting/timing game on a disco floor of AOE spells launched at your party is fun, but physically attacking the monster threwout the entire mission and cleaving the creature's skull in two halves in the end is funner!! :) Or skull(s) I should say lol.
