Yes ilcontegis I get what you mean lol, and you are welcome anytime. Let me know if I can help anytime or any of us. I know It would take forever for new people to get through
the couple of years during development of forum comments on this game just to find out the thinking on something you are curious about. Or even to watch all the videos to sift through
to find something out, although I do say if you are interested watching them here and there gives you a good idea of thinking, and you get to know the team better, which I love.
Sometimes I turn them on while i am puttering around the house and listen in and glance at the screen ;). It's easy for me since my computer room is where a normal house would
have a dining room table and chairs, it's all open concept with the couch and recliners and tv. I just have a eat up bar no table and chairs lol ,but my house is pretty small.
You can tell where my heart and mind are. I am a gamer so of course lol;)

The problem with that is that the Hangouts are long (some of them as long as 12 hours!). As someone who doesn't have the time to keep up with them, it would be nice if there was like a short summary on what each topic covers? I don't need to know every single detail but having something that enables a quick cursory over what's up would be nice.

They should also have a short summary (not just a "we're covering these topics") in the newsletter. Once again, something for people with less time.

The important questions are...why isn't it the 18th yet? Why isn't release 14 coming out two days after release 13 and why can't we have release 15 now?
Oh and the big one...where is my Llama? :)

I'll second that! And I would like an official abstract from the devs :)

It's too sandbox, it's like quicksand, I'm stuck, I can not get out!

I think this thread is a great example of the "crowd-sourcing" of the dissemination of the vision for the game. I'm not saying that's good or bad, intentional or not, but it simply is what it is with SotA.

Great people like enderandrew and Drocis step in to provide summaries, links, vision statements to the new players. One gets the sense that for whatever reason that's the way it's going to be. (Busyness of the devs, desire to keep things fluid, intensity of reaction to what gets posted, who know?) Starr even asked for it with the Steam release.

My point is I just want to say that this is an under-appreciated form of "crowd-sourcing" that goes on here and thank all those who work on the forums to do it so well!

Its a niche game, niche game always have fewer players.
And for a niche game UO has a ton of players, spread across numerous free shards and official shards.
    Delusions, delusions.

Totally agree...I didn't even watch that 12 hour marathon...who has time for that? I have kids and activities I have to be at...I would like to comment on some of the changes/ideas but if I don't know them I can't.

    Very true, but..
    *Chuckle*

The lore of the Warcraft universe is mindboggling. Not only as current events, but also as deep and rich mythos and cosmogony. The sheer amount of novels and publications is astounding.

Now, it's nice and fancy to hate WoW, but credit where credit is due. The source material - both official and fan based - around WC is several orders of magnitude larger and deeper than anything even remotely comparable to it. The coffin sizes of dev team and publishers may play a role in this respect. ;)

I wish the Ultima universe was equally developed.

Patience is a virtue not present in the Codex, but really useful anyway! :D
