I would hope someday I could get a unique item.

This kind of decision is TOTALLY up to Lord British and Portalarium.

It would be great to have a quest with a back story based on the events of the day, even a book in the game would be great.

Port could take the item nd auction it of for fundraising and not give to one persen

My vote is no on this. I can understand the sentiment, however there are already have the screenshots to mark the occasion. I would say introducing what is in essence a true rare into the game at Alpha stage that is held by a player and isn't wiped at launch is wrong.

I think they should sell it on the add on store so we can all buy one, and be able to display it in our houses later on :)

I would be happy with that, or even if it was auctioned off on the website with the funds going back into development.

Aye, I just don't think 1 person in the whole game should have the rarest item in the game permanently.

I like that idea Ice Queen. Make it an add on item and sell it for more funding.

Well not the rarest hehe, this would be the rarest! *having a bit of fun here* This is a thread from a while back that Chris Spears in a dev hangout said that the best item in the game would be the "Armor of invincibility" made from the skin of Lord Brittish. :) https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/f...hs-skin-sotas-quest-for-the-holy-grail.12879/

*apologies from derailing, felt it was appropriate in good humor :)*

If we're going to have a maker's mark, why not have a counter next to it? That would give creators a way to know how many they've created over time and buyers to know how rare an item might be. I'm not suggesting that it's a real-time counter that updates so you know how many Two Handed Swords of Greater Crushing exist in the world. Simply a suggestion to know that it was the first one created by any particular crafter.

That's a great idea smack. I also like the notion of NOT putting a maker's mark on something. Maybe you have a reputation that will keep sales lower than if you made an item? Or maybe you just want to experiment?

I think having a makers mark should cost the crafter something extra so as to avoid tons of maker's marks all over the game.

Yeah, I'd support that too and make it an optional thing, even at a cost to do so.

Having a maker's mark and a counter -- or even a date -- could create a new gray market for such "rares". First Sword of Crushing by Lord British? First Sword of Crushing ever? First weapon crafted by Lord British? First anything crafted by Lord British? First Red Dress crafted by NotChris? Not saying achievements or anything, just perhaps an optional counter and a date stamp. Then players can "discover" these over time and you'd see the ebb/flow of gray market pricing for these rares go up/down as new "firsts" are discovered.

Personally, I've got no stake in this argument one way or the other... But if it is truly the first item that's ever borne his maker's mark, Pre-Alpha or not, it bears commemoration.

No, that doesn't mean it should be attainable or one person should own it, or anything. I don't even think it warrants pride-of-place in a major city.

However, I do see it being hidden in some ruin off in some random corner of the world as a static object, with a plaque stating what it is, the date, and the event.

Yes, but only as the question is posed: It should be a static, that can be found like a PoI such as Entrappedmind suggests.

What happens in pre-alpha stays in pre-alpha.

Now if a museum was in place and held items of Lord British I wouldn't be shocked to see such an item on display.
