To give a quick example about what I mean, most species of spiders are nocturnal. So it'd be interesting to see spiders becoming more active and powerful during night cycles. Or certain NPCs only spawning during the night (or day).

Instead of day and night cycles being mostly aesthetic, they should affect the game.

They plan to have day/night (and weather as well as planetary alignment) impact the game pretty heavy. By this time next year I think we'll have a solid grasp of what that might mean.

We have night spawners already (undead). They are going to try and get as much of this in that they can.

Nocturnal animals being more active. Good idea.

I'm looking forward to the astrologically linked crafting system. (Maybe one reason we can see the night sky so often is to see these alignments). Some people think astrology is bullcrap associated only with bogus future predictions. But in medieval times it was more than that. In medieval times underground occultists considered astrology a divine clock, when mundane things were made during a certain time frame within that clock they would be infused with the celestial powers of that time frame. Such will exist in this game. At least they announced it would. That crafting would be affected by the astronomical alignments in the sky.

Even Pope Urban VIII had an astrologer friend named Tommaso Campanella who used the powers of astrology to change the predicted future by another astrologer by the name of Orazio Morandi, who predicted Pope Urban VIII would be killed in 1630. The ceremony involved astrological magick. Campanella painted the walls the colors pertaining to the astrological powers at the time, intricate care in candles, color of candles, etc, etc. In that ceremony the supposed powers were re-created within the room, infused in the room, and were able to be changed, which supposedly changed the Pope's future. The Pope did not die in 1630, and all in all I'd say it's all BS, but it's funny to know there was a time when it was that popular.
