I am just hoping there were no casualties from that excessive alcohol consumption.

 

They should live more dangerously. Next time set it so that they take shots every $50.


On the 2nd thought, maybe not.

 

I thought poor Lum's head was going to fall off when they kept announcing more shots. Starr Long gets more and more hilariously incoherent the more that he drinks

Also, I didn't see Richard doing shots. Bad form!

 

This is why I didnt bother watching it, I was told by several the devs were too drunk to really talk about much

 

They did pretty good job until around 1 hr mark. That was after they had to take shots from the last minute Valentine's/seasonal purchase stuff.

LOL, very funny OP. Chris wasn't there to talk about anything combat related so I didn't even watch.

 

Unprofessional IMO, working during drinking hours.

I always prefer less drinking and more time answering questions myself. The drinking is fun but I miss the content.

I really loved the written post-mortems that the developers used to do (Richard, Starr & Chris mostly). I look forward to the hangouts not for the prizes or the hilarity but for the content and Q&A.

 

Having seen for myself the amount of lore and content they're trying to pull off before this summer, I quite understand they might want to take a night off to decompress, they get all my blessings, ok maybe exept their liver, my blessings aren't this powerful... yet.

I understand you come from a more rigid mind-set, calculations, and science, player guides etc... but you have to realize its hard to talk about content and not spill the beans. Sit back and chill

 

They answered a Lot of questions... More than usual by my estimation.

 

Seriously, I think the post-mortems are turning into missed opportunities. Here's prime face time to talk about design decisions, present material, etc. and the vast majority of it is random questions. Now don't get me wrong the questions are ok, but these can be handled in a forum and the monthly videos should be reserved as opportunities for Port to make the case as to why the game is progressing and what's cool about it.

Also, once the drinking starts it begins to look very amateurish, thank goodness Portalarium isn't in Colorado.

But really, these could be opportunities for people interested in the game to see a progression of development now that they may have missed if they haven't been involved or kept up with things. Would it hurt to do a 10-minute presentation on key decisions made over the last month, key design challenges, outstanding issues? If the team really is doing a bang-up job - showcase it, do some promo. Right now, I wouldn't recommend anyone interested in the game to watch them for many, many reasons.

 

Lots of generalization, on potheads and people within the team. This is quite rude and it wouldn't surprise me you have hidden frustrations you are unwilling to state because you fear what some people think of you.

You project that fear on the team "they should care that people think they're amateurs".

Well i'm glad that isn't true, they are doing a fantastic job, and we're not on a forum to judge an unfinished product.

There is a DEV+ section for discussing sensitive design decisions and to be honest I can count on one hand the times when they really asked for any input or even gave the math for people to be able to formulate input.

IMO that is not how you build a community, but then again thats how UO was built, apart from bug reports noone had a say in anything.

So yes maybe its a crowdfunded niche game and these issues you bring up really have no importance, whatsoever.

 

I hope the shots keep coming! When I go visit the manor next month, i expect mucho drinking.
