I would rather pay say 5-15 a month subscription plan than see the add on store go PTW

Subscriptions are good for some people that can pay month to month. Add on store allows others to pay when they wish. The amount paid might work out to be the same, who is to say. And at the end of the day, not sure there is a big difference.

 

They've promised no subscription fee from the beginning. They cannot add a mandatory subscription. They could do an optional subscription like Star Citizen that only gives you vanity items.

 

I might consider a subscription if it came with the same perks as supporting the add on store. Otherwise, I'd rather pick and choose items in the add on store that match my play style.

 

Nope. I will not pay a for subscription but I will pay for Gold Crowns when I need them (which will not be every month).

If it eliminated the addon store? Absolutely. I much prefer the traditional addition of content for a subscription. And I'd have preferred that from the start.

 

Well, having to pay a sub is the one reason I never played Ultima Online. (i pre-ordered the collector's edition, then never played it, not even once).

Then again, games with PTW stores I will never win, because I refuse that model of gameplay completely.

I believe in paying for something once, and owning it, and then enjoying it for my lifetime. (so I don't like steam either) That's why I pledged this game. If I had to pick between the two, I'd pick store over subscription, because then I could still play most of the game without putting in more money (i put in too much already).

 

No subscription for me. I like to get thing I want when I want and can afford it at a time.

 

By the way, I love the Obisian crowns idea: My character will refuse any payment in Obsdian currency! In game reasons will be that Obsidians killed his ancestors, and he believes this money is blood money.

 

Make that thousands and I feel the exact same way.

 

I'd rather pay a sub than have what we've got - I've said that in the past. But this is the game we have now so I just have to deal with it. Cash shop, premium currency and items bought with it, probably a premium subscription for special items and other benefits soon based on previous dev comments. I guess there isn't a lot else they can charge money for at this point besides outright selling powerful weapons, spells, and skills. And ages ago they said new skill trees for cash weren't off the table so coming soon I expect. =P

 

If the game had been advertised as a subscription based game and no add-ons from the start, yes I would have. Since it wasn't and was advertised as buy to play with add-on store, no I wouldn't. Add-on store and subscription I would never do together. I've spent so much if this were a subscription game I'd already need 22+ years to get my subscription worth at $14.99 out of it, so no to subscription in Sota.

 

A point that was brought to my attention is, sometimes I may go a couple weeks or 3 to a month with very little game play for a couple different reason, but that always kinda bugged me that I was paying for something I wasnt currently using. If I end up having to buy these coins to support game play I will do so gladly, just dont junk up this game and "flood" it with bling bling. I have played other games with a two current rule set a premium and a silver secondary in-game currency. so It isnt like I am not aware of how that works. WOT, And war thunder, hero's and generals all use this 2 pronged currency. so I am kewl with both options.

Dupe thread, I've read this exact same topic with the same words and same want in many dupe threads, should probably consolidate all these 'would like a sub model even though at Kickstarter a free to play after game purchase model was specified' I'd quit the game and sell my acct if this game went sub .

 

If Port doesn't create a cash market for in-game gold, someone else will. Might as well be Port making the money, I suppose.

 

Well, No... I don't agree to a sub... The add-on store is for early backer who want some pizzazz, it's not PTW... Why do ppl think that?
