Rate of gold crowns dropping

First off, has anyone found a Gold crown in game yet? I doubt it. It is possible that the gold crown is one of the many different crowns that may drop. At the rate the crowns in general drop your chance to get a gold one is very very low. Now my point. If the extremely rare drop is justification for being able to obtain gold crowns in game vs buying them for real cash, then we should expect that that rate should be sufficient to keep our gear from rotting away. We are NOT there yet. Wait you say...you can buy them from player vendors who have used real cash to obtain them. Point being the repairs are paid for with real time cash.

If NPC vendors sold gold crowns for in game gold, then I can suck it up. Perhaps that is the plan and if so I apologize for being so negative on this issue. Please... if you have gotten a gold crown drop in game, could you post here so we at least have some gauge as to the mechanics at the present time?

 

i've gotten one crown this wipe. it was a gold off an elder wolf.

 

Thanks. I have gotten two, a meteoric and a copper. Have not found the crown guy yet since they removed him from his spot in Owl's Head. Good to know that of all the types dropping, one is gold.

 

6-7 months away from release. Not there yet!

 

i know there's one in ardoris. don't know if there are more elsewhere.

 

There shouldn't (apart from pledge rewards) be any form of pay to win in this game

 

In over a year of playing and at level 82 I never found even 1 coin.. ( though I was mostly mining so perhaps that's why ) though I did find over 250 of them in the addon store

 

If the COTO debacle is to succeed, then they need to begin dropping for the avg player on occasion...
I am NOT the average player and I've gotten none... (Got 3 when they first appeared, off Torc' - that's it.)

They're doing a very precarious balancing act here...

 

@Frostll - Agree, they should have more drops.. especially if you says you never got,,geez you are always online,, they must be mighty Rare indeed !

 

Didn't find one so far.
On the other Hand I am only semi active in game at the moment.

 

The Drops should be around 1 Crown per 24-48 hours of play Aprox ( in an 4-5 Skull area ) So if a users wants to grind away in an area for 3 weeks ( 8 hours a day ) then he surely deserves enough crowns to fix his/her entire suit..

I on the other hand have no issues staying in the mines and crafting and going to the addon store every so often to purchase more crowns.. ( Assuming that I will not find many in the mines ).

Then of course there should be the others that find some while doing quest and what not but do not wish to grind a whole bunch and would rather spend 5-10 buck for the few that they are missing to repair the rest of their suit..

I guess the trick here is the balance

 

I was OK with them forcing me to cross PVP areas to fulfill quests, but forcing me into Adoris is the last straw!!

I've edited your post to keep the discussion on topic and avoid another massive debate over Gold Crowns.

 

I thought it was fairly clear that you shouldn't expect that - you should expect to need to buy new gear from time to time.

Generally they're standing in the local alchemist's shop. For example the one in Ardoris is in the shop near the adventurer trainer on Sequanna Square.

Theres a vendor in the alchemist shop in arie and/or etceter too

 

ive only found one crown, white iron one from mining

 

Level 95 and never seen one

 

I do not think you will find one decorating houses though


just kidding...
