Ever since I removed my cloak and enabled the check box to disable cloth in the settings. I have not crashed once.

So a BIG THANK YOU to Portalarium for being persistant and researching this for months. A+ Kudos!

I know a fix will be implemented in due time so we can wear cloth cloaks again.

I cannot wait for the final wipe in two weeks!

    :)

Agreed - it must have been quite an AHA moment. Am I correct in thinking that it was an avatar who first discovered it? I think I read about it on discord.

Wearing all cloth armor without a cloak hasn't stopped my crashing, I wish it did. As a mage I have 2 choices no armor or cloth. I don't see myself having to play a game without armor. Unity just needs to get off their duffs and send us a fix,

Have you disabled the Cloth physics in your settings, Duncan?

Indeed, @Duncan O. McDermott is quite correct. I created a new mage character recently and can definitively state that neither not wearing a cloak, nor checking the disable cloth sim button has helped in the least IF one wears cloth as armor. So, perhaps not wearing a cloak helps, but checking the disable does not. Had not mentioned it as I'm sure they will fix it when possible.

I'll thank them when it's fixed.

When I left for vacation last week, I removed my cap and set the cloth option and I went from massive crashing to almost none. I came back from vacation on Monday and did the 4 patch and now Im crashing doing the same stuff but even worse. this issue is not fixed.

Good opening post. Seems to have helped me too. I've had CTD issues far less since. It might not be the final solution, but a shot at an interim fix to keep testing on track otherwise was appreciated.

As soon as it was announced I turned it off.

The crashes only started for me with release 31 and the only way I could stop them was to basically run around naked with a weapon.

Which considering the armor value on entry level cloth armor isn't really much of a difference, so it's all good!

    Yes, this doesn't really help.

Removing the clock solved the majority of my crashes. However, if I spend some time in a zone, then attempt to leave, it will still crash. Still, much better than it was before.

Even with Disable Cloth checked and wearing a cloak, I was still getting a lot of crashes. I have since removed the cloak and I have noticed a lot less crashes.

I also did not experience many crashes until R31 o_O Oddly enough, disabling cloth and removing my cloak has actually increased the number of crashes I have been experiencing  Not a happy Dragon Lord :(

This was also not an issue for me before R31.

Glad to hear that it worked so well! It's still a patch of a patch of course, but we're working on a more permanent fix here.
