I'm happy seeing this online, and looking forward to be able to farm the rest of fuels.

That being said, being fuel (one of the very basic craft materials) i expected nodes to yield more resources per gathering, or at the very least to have an increased chance of meticulous collection.

Getting the same amount of coal as the other ores doesn't feel right, gamewise.

Indeed, either more per node or we need an entire zone full of it ;)
Have to consider price vs. time spent as well. Getting 2-3 coal per node as opposed to 2-3 ore is a significantly lower value. Should be like 25-30 imo, and there needs to be more of them!
    But a promising start.

Yeah, I agree that getting fuels (or even reagents) in game should be easier. The value on vendors is very low and it should stay low, so it needs to be easy to come by in the game.

Haven't seen a coal node yet. But I did notice the cost of coal was 24 gold at the owls head pavilion. WHAT THE HECK?!?!?

Cost goes up based on local demand until that demand dies off. It's worth buying your fuels from another location in such cases.

Low? you must be wealthy from day one (are there online gold vendors for $ already or something?)... prices on vendors are insanely high for the burn mats coal, wax, creo and salt... I should get 10 per 1 gold... not 10 gold a piece.

Supply and demand driving prices is a lie... don't spread BS, maybe in future thats the intent but if you think supply and demand is controlling prices you know nothing about supply and demand.

I said nothing about supply, just demand and that effect is well known already. Please re-read what I said.

Supply at the moment is infinite....I've never seen the NPC merchants run out.
Kind of throws a kink in the whole economic analysis.

It just simulates the restricted supplies. At certain point, the price will go so high that people will need to purchase them from other towns.

I agree, I mine quite a lot and coal is just worth it as there is very little and not worth stopping for such a thing..

There need to be more per node so that its actually worth stopping for.. also more nodes as well as there is so few I too have only run into a few here and there..

except owl's head is a starter area. Making it impractical to craft in a starter area is just stupid!

It's not really a starter area anymore. It's still a stomping ground for veterans of course but anyone new is going to wander into regional capitals like Ardoris, Resolute and Aerie.

Soltown is a starter Area. Owl's Head is the after effect of 32 releases of testing, which started in the Vale, and people seems reluctant to explore and find other zones to hang out. Is that concentration of people in there what's making prices rise.

So AFAIK that's working as intended. Maybe people should try to spread out? Life's good in Northwestern part of Novia i tell ya :D

It's a conspiracy to overthrow the government of Owl's Head through civil unrest.

Not since many months ago. It is now a backwater old-folks home.

    Yes, that was sarcasm.
