worry not! they are still useless with a home. thats why the tooltip says decoration.

[edit] i rather left the ones i ran across yet where they were, because seriously... +50 weight for a deco item everyones gonna own at least once? not gonna happen i "leap-frog" that into town.[/edit]

I'm hoping you at least come back after final release and give it one more try. I'm already enjoying it immensely since final wipe and can see the potential for a really tremendous game once it's 100% finished.

Obsidian crowns drop ingame and are on all public vendors. The buffs are mostly broken and gear wear isn't a huge issue yet.

So you are concerned about not taking +9 gear out of circulation after maz durability gets too low?

Totally miss your mindset on PtW

Well to be fair, this game is for aging Ultima fans wishing to relive the Garriott glory days who have found themselves middle-aged and bored.

However, they now have a disposable income so they can strap on a brand spanking new pair of rose-colored glasses and buy all the accouterments necessary to fill the gaping hole in their lives.

    Filling holes is expensive.

But look on the bright side...it could have been a Corvette and toupee.

Haha, that's quite funny and I think quite accurate. I saw somewhere on the forums here a poll of ages and it peaked in the 40s.

Oof! Not to interrupt your thread but that robe is awful. It's bad enough it counts as chest and leg piece but the moment you move it rides up around your waist and you're flashing everyone you run by. Combat stance does it too. You can turn off cloth simulation but then the bottom half is stiff like someone went overboard on the starch. I'm hoping for decent robes someday.

Ok, back to your normal thread topic, apologies!

43 and not bored with my life one bit. Thanks for the over-gereralization though, damn. You don't turn 40 and suddenly dislike video games or something. Oh, and I have a Camaro and a full head of hair, thanks very much. :p

Supposedly the base rate is 1 per 1,000 actions. I've literally never seen one drop, ever.

Every part of life has some good and some bad. Focus on the good and minimize the bad.

I have an account on nearly every MMO ever released. No game is as entertaining or enjoyable as Shroud of the Avatar. Why waste any more time playing something not as good?

I guess it's all about how you look at it. Computer games don't write themselves. You have to pay programmers, graphics artists, level designers, etc. These people don't work for free. You have to supply them with the tools, both hardware and software, and you have to provide them with the space (office) in which to do their work.

The first thing you must do is figure out where this money will come from. If you want to do a monthly payment thing then you'll need a lot of people paying every month to keep the lights on, and who's going to pay monthly for a game at the beginning of its development? You could get investors but they want a lot in return (and I'm not talking in-game assets). Or, you could look to the community of people that want to play your game for some generous backing.

You don't have to pay anything above what you pledged for and the game is actually quite fun.

BTW, everyone enjoys the benefits brought by those fat backers.
