Although this is not a class based game. There are three known sigils: crafting skills, magic skills, and combat skills.

Crafting, hands down. I will probably take 2-ish skills/trees in the other two sigils (and however taming is handled), but most of my time and energy will go into crafting. Tailoring and cooking first, then branching into other trees.

I think I'd wait until to see how it unfolds. I can certainly imagine magic not being something you can do much with right away and crafting being expensive / something that needs mats from killing. In this case, everyone might find themselves with crude weapons and whatever pieces of armor drop while the game opens up.

Really tough to say. Primarily combat (40%) and crafting (40%) (armorsmith- specializing in plate and shields, weaponsmith- specializing in swords and daggers) and a bit of magic (20%) (life and fire magic).

I've always been a jack of all trades player, but I'm most interested in combat succeeding in this game. I'm quite certain crafting and magic will be well represented, but I havn't seen enough about combat yet.

I think I will balance magic/crafting and then run with what I like best affter a while of experiencing it in game.

Probably crafting, then magic / combat equally.

But I'm not really going to "focus" on any sigil and will just let my exploration of the game world and interaction with players dictate which sigils get used more often than others. I think naturally though crafting -- or more specifically, the gathering skills -- will likely get used a lot first. With exploration you'll likely end up gathering whatever you see around you and whenever you're back in town it'll come into use then. Having said that, exploration will drive that direction first and foremost.

Given we have no details on limits for specialization, I'll be 'that guy' and say:

    All of them. :D

It's really hard for me to say except I usually don't play magic oriented characters. I play Bowen as an unusually intelligent ranger type.. which means lots of skills.. many of which fall into crafting.. but he's also a knight now.. so I need to accomodate 2 or 3 different styles of combat along side a variety or armors just to be in-character. :)

    I...am...stuck...

I've always played 3 characters. Main, some sort of death-dealer (blade, blunt, magic *shrugs*...dead is dead). After all the fighting, I loved to sink into my crafter character, typically smithing. It wasn't to "gear-up" my main...it was more of a "wind-down" from the killing and do some "hang out in town" RPing. Last character...always strange, unusual...really just to RP and have a laugh.

So now I have to chose between a straight Cleric type character...or a full-on Blacksmith. I don't wish to do both with the same character; RP-wise I wouldn't care for that. So like I said...I am stuck. No clue what I'm going to do.

Ok, this is what you should do. Take a bunch of 3x5 cards and write down all the archetypes you think you'd like to try. Shuffle that deck of cards and lay 3 out on the table, but only give yourself 3 seconds to decide before you pick one of them. :)

I'll just wander around, and whatever happens, happens.

Whatever is easy, I plan on "dumbing it down".

Definitely magic, but I am uncertain about how much or how little I'll put into combat. Generally I do none to very little crafting, but I like how crafting in SotA has been presented, so I can't say for sure about that yet either.

I'll just have to try as much of everything as I can during alpha/beta. :D

Love the business sense of those game. I really hope for a well done crafting system and a strong economy to be a well known merchant!

My approach is that I really have no idea yet and don't care to paint myself into a role yet. Depending on how functional the Alpha is, I might know better then otherwise it'll have to wait until beta :)

I do enjoy archery, stealth and various crafting aspects of the game, so we'll see how those pan out.
