there seems to be no lighting that we can craft in game.
candles cost 600 per and they barely light up the area around them.
paying 7 bucks for 3 nice wall lights is really unfair if thats all we have to light up our house with.
we need craftable lights that are bright like the purchasable one.

We can make wall candles, wall torches, tall silver candlesticks, silver candlestick, iron lanterns, Braziers 2 types. I am sure more will be arriving in later releases but this is a great start.

they were supposed to make a fix where candles and such gave more light. I love my wall torches....but would love a chandalier. But all lighting can either be made or ummm procured from other places. LOL.

No more crafting threads please. I'd like to see improvements to combat before we talk about more crafting and housing.

Lol and who made you the boss j/k. I'm sure they are working on everything. I do see a lot of improvement to combat. I never thought it would get this good, true it is not all working as intended, but it has made fantastic strides and is really fun and challenging so far. I was one who was down on the deck system, and I say wow to what has been accomplished. Combat is starting to not be the issue imo. All systems such as crafting need to be reworked and added to so they are more fun, fishing up treasure maps and creatures and more interesting fishing process, since it is bare bones still, conversation ui needs re-done, game interaction and quest lines still have too much missing in the game that doesn't connect the dots together at this time.

When we are doing something besides crafting and combat things i think these things should all tie together in some way, like little comments and interactions. It is a full game not just a crafting game or a combat game why does doing one thing separate us from the rest of the world happenings? Are we out adventuring and forget who we are and what we are doing? Yes, yes, yes. Detail is missing to connect it all. We are at a point where everything needs work not just combat. Don't forget the details I say. If it's a combat only game you want, this should not be it. My adventuring should give me reasons to do something like cure my curse from fishing, or find a murdered man and find the key on the body or the note to solve the crime. Experiences should mean something in this game in rewards, satisfaction, interest, fun, and challenge. This is missing. Ok my opinion ;)

oops off topic sorry, ;) and I agree the lights should light up our rooms more, especially the stone basement. It is still really dark with a ton of wall torches on the walls.
edited to make more sense ;)

Personally, I would like to see craft-able ceiling lights. . My basement could use them :D

Edit: The lanterns and wall torches are fairly bright.

The basements need sorting, have for a number of releases now, its pitch black down there unless i make 1 million wall torches and then they only have a 1 metre glow radius. I got plans for my basement but i need adequate lighting down there.

    Mmmm... Let's see:

    -Wooden street lights

    -Wall torch

    -Wall candle

    -Silver candle stick

    -Silver tall candle

    -2 types of Brazer

    -2 types of Fireplace

    -Iron lantern

The more I play, the more I find... Most of the "candle" types you can pick-up...

I misread the thread title as "Why can't we craft lightning?" Now I'm disappointed because I really wanted to see the case for that.

basements can use ornate wall lamps, 3 for 7 bucks in the store, 2 per floor, or wall torches 2 silver ingots and 3 wood and other stuff craftable.
carpentry to get the final menu. the ornate wall lamps are the brightest. the wall torches are bright enough. mebbe 4 per floor for the wall torches.

Maybe for basements with rooms, but certainly not for arenas
