Mining

I have a pick axe but I can't mine anything. Is it because I don't have a facemask? If so, where do you buy facemasks?

make sure the pick axe is not broken and it's equipped... you also need to find a vein to mine (iron vein, silver vein, copper vein, gold vein)... you will find them attached to rocks all over New Britannina... of course, you'll find them more in mines... like Spectral Mines, Verdantis Mines, Elysium Mines, Owl's Nest Mines, etc....

Edit... you don't need a facemask...

 

Ok ty. I do equip it but it does not show it in my hand. It has full durability

 

it will not show in your hands until you find a vein to mine... if you find a vein to mine then move your pointer over the vein and the pointer will change into a pickaxe... press E or double click on the vein and your avatar will immediately start mining with your pickaxe in hand... ^^

I just got back home so I'll give it another shot. For some reason it doesn't show it in my hand

 

don't equip it by dragging it onto your paperdoll like a weapon. equip it by right clicking it and equipping there or by dragging it onto the slot for a tool in the lower left of the skill tree page for that skill.

 

I have tried that but it still won't equip. Then when I unequipped the pick axe it completely disappeared from my inventory. Tried to equip an axe and i does the same thing

 

click on the gear on the upper left right of your inventory and show equipped tools?

 

Ok I found them again. But how do I actually make the tools appear in my hands?

 

The equip slots for tools are on their respective skill in the production tab of the skills window.

You can see it in the lower left of the window where it says "Equipped Tool" in this picture(the text is unrelated, it's just the first thing that popped up in Google image search):

 

If what you want is to run around with a pickaxe out, I don't believe that's possible at this time.

 

you don't. when you start mining a node, it will appear.

Ok thank you guys! Last question on this lol, can you mine in towns or just in combat zones? I can't seem to find any nodes in Bramble

 

no mining nodes in town i can think of. there's occassionally foraging nodes in places like brittany fields, or fishing, or bunnies and stags to kill and skin, but i've never seen a mining node or a choppable tree in towns.
