    How about an artifact instrument that calms creatures still so taming is a little more appealing.

    Doesn't animal charm skill in moon tree work for this?
    Sorry I have neither animal charm nor taming but sounds like it should work :p

    as for dragons they will never be tameable as they are highly intelligent creatures or so it has been said

    No, it does not. When animal Charm is on you cannot start a tame attempt.

    Root works for a few seconds though.

    Is that quote from devs or just guessing from the lore ? Because in UO dragons & drakes were tamable so..

    statement from devs way back but they also said no neon or handholding so you might just get those dragons :p

    I use the Dazzling Rays mez when attempting to tame .. gives me 13s to get the cast off safely.
