Just wanted to say goodbye to all guys that kept fighting for sandbox content in the game. Keep it up!
Also to people who openly and frankly discussed with me over the years.

I decided to abstain from posting here until things change.

If you care for reasons. READ MY BLOG *SotAEvil link in signature*, when your done with Chrises ;)

Good decision and I urge all DoD members to take a similar step.

I hope you don't back away from the game that you've contributed so much of your thoughts in creating. I always think you had a special talent for describing the technical issues when it comes to combat.
When we come to the edge of something, to stay on the edge is very difficult to do. I hope your away time is productive and brings back a good bounty of thought for us all to reflect on.
BTW, what was the core issue of the game you had or have opposition to o_O?

If it's just about the forums, this is our game's welcoming door mat which does have freedom of expression limits. I found that out early on when banned 3 times over cannibalism issues and another time dealing with fairness and freedom of expression, which I found myself on an edge about, but I just didn't see the edge which was my fault for not seeing it. So I guess that makes my censorship batting average once per year, but I'm trying to improve my foresight so I don't get there again.

If it's a friendship issue within the game, then maybe it's time for some lone wolf style playing enjoyment. On my latest return I brought with me some rude personal baggage, so I've been spending some single player online time to let that baggage wear off a bit before getting back to my game immersion enough to interact with others on a more personal scale.

You may not wish to share any of these answers but I want you to know that I personally value the insights I've read from you and hope to read more "here" in the future (I dislike outside forums and blogs, sorry).

    Your devoted fan reader,
    ~Time Lord~

There is only 3 things you should do in a casino. Abstain, happy losing or count cards. Don't pick a fight with the pit boss knowing you can't win.

Sorry brother, and thanks for trying to put up a good fight..

Deaf ears or too small of a team, I love the potential of the game and I hope they remember what uo brought us (the ultimate sandbox).

Its easy to be frusterated, being optimistic has been the hard part at times.

Comon RG find that greatness again.

Vallo, you stirred the pot, but always did it in an intelligent and creative way. Thanks.

I was one of the first to respond to the post with the video and my post got deleted without even a notice. I only suggested they needed to sideline Chris (from front facing marketing) for a while because of the atrociousness of the multiple "suck its". But I actually understand Chris, I've managed IT people for years and he fits a certain specific personality, mostly people who should be put in a back room because they hammer shat out. I remember after persistence how ticked tammers were when it was nurfed, it was a big deal and a lot of people were not happy. I also knew hearing Chris say that would again tick off the few people who stayed and didnt quit after that. This was in poor form for Port and is a marketing nightmare and what Vallo created shows that.

On the flip side, I liked Vallos video but I also knew within a few seconds that he went far past the line with it, especially posting it here. I almost expected an account ban and I think hes lucky not to get it. Yes I understand that some angry people at the game even here (more so on Redit) picked up on this and praise it but thats more a rip down the world kind of opinion. A video like that posted on a gaming companies property anywhere would be ripped down and if people dont think so, you are being disingenuous. Vallo clearly wants to play an evil character in game but he blurs that into reality. I actually still love reading his stuff, but he knows better.... you bet he knows he pushed far beyond the line.

Vallo didnt say he was quitting SOTA, just the forums.

So lets just get real people.

I've never said this and felt this way, but I do feel like I have the right to post this opinion and have it understood by the dev's based on my pledge and donation level specifically looking out for the good of the game itself.

Seems what's good for the goose isn't for the gander, if u dish it out then be prepared to have it back imo., and I'm not talking about Vallo there... Who may be a &%$*'er in game but always a tolerant and ...well Balec said it just right....

Sorry to see such an active member throw in the towel, but sad to say I completely understand it. We've seen the game change considerably since persistence, and while a lot of new "stuff" has been added the gameplay experience can still feel like work (grind cash to pay bills, try to stay ahead of xp loss). While I understand the game wants to appeal to a niche market and doesn't want to be "easy" - some compromise will likely be necessary to remain competitive in the MMO market. Its fine to want a complex, difficult, even tedious system - but there need to be rewards too; fun bits to balance out the chores, systems in place to make the world somewhere people want to "live."

Looking at your recent posts and video, I think "I decided to abstain from posting here until things change" is a good decision.
Wishing you all the best as you move on!

Got moderated again... this time I got a message to not post the image after it's moderated... which is weird, because I had no message prior to even telling me I had been moderated to begin with.

Anywho... this is too much fun for me, so I'll just get back to refreshing the marketplace forums until my account sells.
