thought we would have gotton a char creation update by now

Seriously, as soon as I took my helmet off yesterday I was like, "Oooohhh its one of those days *puts helmet back on*"

 

I think there's enough options on the character creator to make yourself look somewhat unique, I expect more will come in time.
One thing that really really really irks me to absolutely no end though, with some of the female hairstyles, the 'accessory' is always red. So if you have a pony tail or braids, or a bandana, it is always red. Do you know how hard it is to try and coordinate an outfit if you always have these red baubles in your hair?! Its maddening! You know what I'm talking about @Minerva @Ameresta Trillion
And I know its not priority, or important, but...please, please please please, either make these color neutral or give some sort of accessory color slider. That shouldn't be too hard, right? Dont need to make any other textures or hairstyles or anything...right?

Either that or maybe some sort of head deco that is small but will override the effect. For example, when I wear some hats, it 'removes' my hair baubles:



But also has the side effect of making my hair 'clip' with armor:


Which is aggravating, but surmountable by wearing different stuff:


Sadly, though, it doesnt work with all headpieces, so you end up with stuff like this....

Does this bother anyone else as much as it bothers me?

I know I could just change my hairstyle, but I like my braids, and how this hairstyle looks in the front....but...its sooo red. Maybe just make them same color as my hair? Or like a neutral black, white, gray that would match more things?

Alot of things like that bother me... but there were more systems and thus more bugs...

I met a new player in game yesterday who had spent an hour trying to open a door but there was someone in front of it... they had died 20+ times trying to get to the top of the tower magic mirror just to begin the quest.

The game design and art direction is amazing, but so many parts still are place holders...

 

And please do something with the beard.
It looks strange.

 

Yes @kaeshiva The red bands in my BLONDE hair drive me nuts. It's so ugly/icky looking.

 

For some reason was never a big fan with hiding gear. If you don't like the look, wear something else. If you don't want that equipment piece to show up, take it off. But then you don't get the benefits of wearing it, either.

 

Agree, the game needs a better character creation tools. Tthe body is fine but faces are pretty bad.

Looks good but they are not using any home engine, they using UE. Sadly we can't expect to see something like this with the resources Portalarium has atm.

 

yes! when they give the npcs buns, they give them a scrunchy that's the same as their hair. why can't they do that for us?

 

More hairstyles would have been nice to help. I always like the variety in FFXIV. Here are lots of examples I found:

 

I so agree with @kaeshiva about those red hair ties!!! For low hanging fruit can we at least just make then the same colour as the hair? (Basically invisible)
