Account security

I have logged in to the game few minutes ago and my Avatar was standing in the different place that I had left him prior to last logout. Could it be a bug or there is a chance that my account was hacked? I am running SOTA on OSX. Any suggestions how to react to this strange situation?

 

If in doubt chance your password. Also, report it as it can be investigated via logs.

 

The most likely scenario (if you're in the same scene but not the exact same spot) is that your local client and the server got out of sync briefly when you last played the game.

 

He was standing at a different location? But in the same Scene/Zone?

There could be different reaons for that, none of the reasons are bad.

If someone could log in with your data, that same someone could log into the homepage and put your account to zero, delete your items, delete your character and much more.
So...only from a logical point, everything should be good...with a little desync somewhere.

Did you log out while being a ghost (dead) for example?

 

That is another possibility. I think you are warned at log-out that your character remains there for 20 seconds. If you log out in a dangerous area, your character can still die and then will start at a respawn point later.

 

Yes, I have logged out with 20sec warning in the dungeon, maybe this was the case.
