We're unable to reproduce this locally, as we're able to hear SFX clearly as of 398... Can you verify your volume settings to make sure the SFX volume slider is turned up as well as that the Footsteps toggle is turned on in the audio menu? Aside from footsteps (which are often their own anomalous entity), can you provide an example of something else you're not hearing SFX for in order for us to use it as a testing baseline? Thank you for reporting!

    Reproduced with the video.
All the volume settings have been set properly all the time on my laptop both on Win7 and on Win10, but there is still no Sound FX playing, but there is only Music playing during the gameplay. You can hear that there is no Sound FX playing at all between 1:38 and 3:15 in the video. There is no spell casting Sound FX, no footstep Sound FX, no falling down Sound FX, no bow Sound FX, no creature killed Sound FX and no environmental Sound FX playing.
You can see at 0:06, at 2:18 and at 3:02 in the video that the SFX volume slider and the Footstep toggle are set properly to play the Sound FX on my laptop. The Sound FX were still playing normally in the pre-R28 Build SotA.EarlyAccess.QA.Win.64.338.Date.03.28.16 but since Build 397 the Sound FX quitted playing on my laptop.

My Avatar used to stay in Ardoris since Build 397. The Sound FX start working normally when I exit Ardoris. The Sound FX are working normally in the overland map, in Perennial Trail and in Soltown. Each time I enter Ardoris, the Sound FX stop playing.

Aha! This finally solves it! Should have figured. ;) Ardoris having bugged SFX is a known issue that we expect to resolve in the near future. The issue is from the scene having too many audio sources present. We're on top of it. Sorry for the confusion! :) Goes to show, it's all in the details.
