Anyone know what pet combat training actually does?

Hi all, not had any luck finding anything on pet combat training and in game I'm not able to detect any effect at all yet?

Much like what Alley Oop said, I would wait until Thursday to see the changes. Personally as a tamer, I cannot wait for them. I'm so sick of seeing people using any super pet as an easy button. :)

Pet combat training and summoning together determines the strength of your pet.

Currently it raises the Pets hit points and their ability to hit higher level mobs (if their new level is closer or higher than the old level)

If you have the pet, and then train combat training past the next threshold, you will not see any effect. You must get your pet killed then rezz it for it's new level to take affect.
(you might be able to dismiss and re-summon, but I've never seen that work)

E.g. (In Release 32) if you have a ferocious red spider and no combat traning he will have 500 hit points. If you train combat training to 73 (+7) your pet will still have 500 hit points. If you get your pet killed and then rezz it, it's new hit points will now be 522 or 539 I forget which. If you untrain you combat training all the way your pet will still have 539 hit points until the first time it dies, then it will drop back down to 500 after rezz.
