Apartment/Room for Rent!!!

I am unable to pay a whole lot of real money for a house in SotA, I was wondering for those who cant place a house (because all the plots are taken or if you just cant afford one because they are ridiculously expensive) if we could rent an apartment or room from some of the village people like if the cook, butcher or farmer Joe has an extra room. Maybe pay rent by helping make bread or farm so that we can save our gold for a house sometime down the road.

Any thoughts or expanding ideas are welcome!
