I assumed the apprentice system would work really well if the the leveling system was similar to Ultima Online but I don't understand how it is going to work now. Anyone have any idea? "Apprentice system allows players with 'master' level skills to help lower skill players advance more quickly"
They may have to use a very broad method of awarding general XP towards either combat or crafting.. rather than towards a specific skill. At the moment I don't see any other way to do it. So you have some system to establish a master/apprentice relationship. Then conduct some sort of activity where the apprentice is awarded XP towards their level. Whether it's dueling, using an object or whatever else they have in mind.. It could be capped XP per level or a 1% XP boost or something like that. I suppose I could come up with something more interesting if I took some time to think about it. I just might have to now. I doubt the system has even been designed yet.
