Currently Astoria has not advertised any lots available. The primary function of the town is to create and maintain a lumber company. As the game grows and people seek locations to live, we will explore how housing will work.
Astoria Lumber Company (ALC) - We are looking for Adventurer/Gatherers that are interested in a place to call home temporarily or permanently. We provide the housing, you provide 200 logs per week. We have 1 spot filled and 15 more available. As the crew grows to a total of 16 people, lodging will fill up. If needed, I will add another barracks to accommodate people. My goal is for you to have a complete floor in the building/basement. You will be Kindred to the barracks and permissions will be set to ensure your items cannot be moved by anyone but you.
Here is the deal, the logs you gather to pay "rent" will be purchased from you and placed on a vendor in Astoria at the lumber yard. You will be paid for the 200 logs you gather every Friday. The starting game rate will differ from the adjusted economy rate. This is just realistic since everyone will be just getting started. You have the option to cut down more than 200 and sell them to the Astoria Vendor (purchase orders) at the same rate as your weekly pay. Basically you will have unlimited overtime. A chest will be assigned to each resident to deposit the (200) logs into.
You can remain in the barracks as long as you would like to work for the lumber company. If you move out of the barracks, the 200 log rule will no longer apply and you will no longer be employed by ALC. You will, however have the option to continue to sell logs to the Astoria Vendor at current rates.
For those of you that decide you enjoy the steady flow of income and decide to stay long term, a row lot marker will be reserved for you in Astoria. We will decide together where it should be placed (and when).
There are other details to be hashed out. And we can do that with a serious applicant. We need people who are going to be here. If you are going to be gone for a couple weeks, log a little harder and pay in advance with logs... leave the extra logs in the box and a note with an explanation. That's just an idea....
Janos Ferenzy is the company foreman. All questions about policy will be directed to him at the time of application.
This is really just an offer to help people get started. It will provide them with a basically free place to stay in exchange for some logs that they will be paid for. I'm not trying to populate my entire holdfast with lumberjacks... or anyone else yet. It will provide gold for the player and get them out adventuring. It will also help several guilds get up and running depending on the amount of people we can get to join.

If you have a POT, or a Guild, or you are a private citizen that would just like to buy logs, this will be a huge asset. Guilds can send a member to Astoria to work for a length of time. This will provide that member with gold and allow that guild access to wholesale prices (for life). Our Lumber Company already has guilds waiting for it to be stocked. The Wholesale Vendor is private. It is located inside the Barracks and is only accessible by invitation. There will be a public vendor outside the barracks that will have logs for sale at normal prices.

Again, our vendor is private and we have predesignated customers. There is guaranteed lodging and guaranteed pay. Come on over and be a part of our company.

If you don't mind chopping a few trees, this could be a great opportunity to get started. Please PM me with all questions and all applications. 19 and a wake up.

Those that apply before wipe will get to choose what floor they want in the barracks. And will have seniority for other opportunities down the road... (Supply Ship Crew Member?)

Please have patience, we are going to adjust where necessary... with economy, with space for rooms.... please ask questions through PM.

    Thank you
