Blocking is Broken(for many things)

    Details:

    Okay, so more "Combat Block Modifier" bugs.

    Everything was tested with either 26% or 28% chance of blocking stuff and no less than 20 individual attacks were used in any sample size.

    Things blocked: (all were within 1-2% of expected blocking %)
    Melee Attacks
    NPC Archery Attacks (including skills)
    Ice Arrow
    Fire Arrow
    Lightning

    Things not blocked: (every single one was 0/20 blocks or 0/(larger sample size):
    PVP Archery attacks
    PVP archery skill (rapid shot - i expect all the others are similar)
    NPC Mage autoattacks (note: glancing blow/Damage resist BOTH work on this)
    Obsidian Arrow
    Fireball
    Death Ray
    Searing Ray
    Earthquake
    Chain Lightning
    Discharge
    Death touch

    So, I'm not entirely sure how much of this stuff *should* be blocked. I've heard mention somewhere that spells should be blockable, but I'm not sure on that one(or if there are limits). However, NPC mage auto attacks, PVP archery attacks and obsidian arrow (its physical damage, piercing arrow(from NPCs) gets blocked and all the other "arrow" spells get blocked) all seem like good bets that they should be. Additionally, It seems weird that "lightning" gets blocked but "chain lightning" does not

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Equip Shield
    2. Cast Deflect(leveled 80 or above makes testing easier)
    3. Get hit by stuff.... lots of stuff.... repeatedly.
    User Specs:
    OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601) 64bit
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4) System RAM: 8161
    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti GPU RAM: 1993
    SotA.EarlyAccess.Win.64.402.Date.04.05.16
    Area: Ardoris
    Loc: (128.6, 59.3, -111.9)

    Excellent feedback! I just updated the blockable skills to include Bow, Deathray, Death touch, Obsidian Arrow, and Searing Ray. I did not add the others as they all felt like they would not be blocked by a shield in my opinion. Thanks and this will be in R29!

    Sounds good. I wasn't sure what the standard was for spells but rays and projectiles makes sense. What about the mage (staff?) attacks from npcs? I'm not saying they should be blocked but i don't see how the armor attribute glancing blow should work when a shield won't.
