Knock down is not always working in PvE when used on moving targets. The mob slides knocked down over the ground and stands up immediatly. In PvP the players always move so knockdown never works. Also jumping lifts up the stun root knockdown? The advantages mages and archers have in this game are rediculous both in PvE and PvP.
I had chance to play with bludgeon (main 135 and allskills above 120+) . The current status of bludgeon in pve is ok (it has great uses specially for bosses). Moving targets usually miss with blade so it is super normal stuns also dont work. Please avoid bludgeon for pvp. Like avoiding plague.
Its been a while, but I was quite successful with a bludge build in PvP mixed in with earth. I would suspect its no different today because they key is stun locking. When death mages were by far the dominant PvP class (and everyone ran them), I could stun lock one to death in a few seconds (I was adv lvl 90, only the lvl 110+ people were beating me).
There is a direct counter for it in PVP and it's called the Space Bar. Also the majority of Bludgeon attacks cause a stun or knock down which will put a Crowd Control Buff on your target effectively making it nigh impossible for you to get an actual stun or knock down on them when you actually need it. So in short Bludgeon is garbage in PVP especially at higher ADV Lvls as it has zero damage over time abilities and suffers a penalty for poisons and seems to lose damage the more CC buffs the target has on top of it all. Took everything in Bludgeon to 130+ with specialization at 100 and it performed almost as bad Archery and everyone I dueled immediately circumvented the stuns by just mashing Space Bar.
so ppl can jump out of stuns? i thought you cna jump out of roots only not knockdown nor mesmerize nor stuns.. someone help?
