Bottle of Wine - Is it Gone?

I have been checking merchants for "Bottle of Wine" which is for cooking recipes

I can't find any on the normal vendors that sold it before. Innkeepers and Bartenders

 

A bottle of red, a bottle of white,
It all depends upon your appetite,
I'll meet you any time you want,
In our Italian Restaurant...

 

you can still harvest in towns or adventure zones (they stand there as stealable loot )

 

So it is gone and to make a jar of vinegar is a real pain? or start to kill your virtue?

 

They used to sell them on NPC Cooking merchants too. I don't see them on there now either.

Must have changed due to brewing being added and us being able to brew wine now.

I always used to just steal mine from the world though too.

 

You can get bottles of wine from the following adventure areas without virtue ding.

Nightshade pass -camp near fire elemental. 1 bottle
Sunless barrens - interloper camps x2, shelves with wine and other goodies.
Tenebris harbor buildings with the same

 

With the introduction of brewing the alcohols sold by merchants were changed. The cooking recipes were probably an oversight, but you might try either Red Table Wine or White Table Wine.

 

There are others too.

 

If the item is no longer available, the recipe should be changed to use something else, otherwise it is bugged and cannot be made.

 

Have you tried the now-craftable variety to see if that works, before calling it bugged?

 

the craftable produces goblets, not bottles.

 

DS changed brewing due to an exploit issue. Wine might be indirectly affected by this change. See DS announcement message.

 

Yeah, you still need bottle of wine. You cannot use wine you create for this (why, I don't know - they didn't think about it I guess)

Jar of Vinegar, Ardoris Coleslaw, Brace of Lapine and Darkstarr Smoked Duck should be updated to use a new ingredient if the bottle of wine is no longer available.

 

yes. morton's quest in owl's head is broken now, too.

i haven't seen anyone bug the recipes yet, but i haven't been paying a lot of attention today

 

They ought to give out 1 COTO for each new real bug report since it takes effort

 

making sure the right people get the credit takes too much tracking effort. that's why they ended the original program in the first place. they miss any one report and they'd have people yelling "but i reported it first!"
