So its intended that when I die with a pet and use the ankh I get a full pet summon timer? Disappointed about the change but good to know.

It is not intended for death to remove Pet Summon penalty. If you die, the pet will despawn. You still need to wait out your timer. This is intended.

If my pet dies and I die straight away, I loose the pet forever, the wistle becomes empty, is that by design, right?
Also if I leave the scene without ressing the pet, I loose it forever. That rapened today, run out of reagents and lost the pet. And there is a tird way to loose it forever, let his corpse delay. I learned the lesson the hard way, never summon your pet at dificult areas.

@Jagunso, no. You can still resurrect the pet (for a certain length of time), but you cannot summon it again until the summoning timer runs out.
