I have been unable to edit any of the posts I made in the forum — clicking on the Edit button elicits no response. Is there a trick to using it?

Maybe it's a browser issue. I suggest to try another browser. Firefox works fine for me :)

Sounds like you're using the latest IE. Personally, I dislike having to change software over little things. It seems excessive.

Right click the edit button and select open or open in new tab. You'll also need to do this with Quote but everything else should work fine.

The forum software isn't updated - you can check what is supported etc by following the link at the bottom.

But there are essentially three options:
    1
use safari/firefox/chrome they all seem to work for quoting and editing, however some img and vid restrictions are there
    2
do like Bowen points out, right click the button and select open in new window/tab
    3
if its IE then press [alt] then select [Tools] menu and [Compability View Settings]
then you can set this site for special treatment

It's always the same with the IE - this browser don't follow the specs in every point and implements some proprietary stuff instead. I'm using IE only to check my website for IE compatibility.

The problem with compatibility mode is it effects the entire domain and a lot of other stuff doesn't display properly. I did it that way until someone pointed out right clicking the buttons.

With the exception of this domain IE has always been good to me. I'm not inclined to switch over something so minor and what I've seen from other browsers hasn't impressed me at all. And so I right-click a button or two.

As a web-designer you will learn to dislike the sometimes strange behavior of the IE - particularly with Cascading Style Sheet. But of course everybody should use the browser one likes ;)

It was IE! I am not interested in switching browsers, but using the right-click trick works fine for me. Changing the compatibility settings also works :)

    Thanks!

All of this, plus everything, and then more as well. IE never learned CSS.

If you're running IE, right-click the edit button and then click "open", that should enable you to edit. Also works with the Quote function.
