However if one jumps over the fire it is still possible to land on top of the fire - and the fire does no damage at all. So why is an invisible barrier necessary to prevent people from going in or over the fire, if a) the barrier is incomplete and not high enough to prevent jumping over and b) the fire does not damage so needs no safekeeping measures taken?
